Ok, I have some nasty holes I have to fill in the sliding doors of my van..... Money is tight so I'm wondering if there are any tips/tricks/ideas on how I can fix these holes well enough to let my poor old mini van pass another year's inspection.

Pics kinda would help but, what kind of van? What year? Is it a powered door/doors? Where do you live (not adress of course, but what part of a country?) I know that you said money is tight, but I can say that if it has nasty holes in the doors they need to be replaced.

hell ShadowLady thats why they invented mud flaps so your doors don't stoned to death

best way to fix that is get yourself some longstrand fiberglass pre-mix from ole crappy tire i see that they don't offer the pre-mixed fiberglass with long strand, the kit can do you

also need a grinder with 24 grit disk and sander with 80 80,120, grits for primer and 400 wet paper for color match paint to complete repair

SAFETY:goggles, gloves and dust mask

grind the hole edges (1 inch back) to bare metal with grinder then get fiberglass mat if used that kit and cut mat to fit over hole and bare metal or if got the pre-mixed stull just add harder to can and stir then apply to hole and shape it so less sanding then let fiberglass set after sand with 80 sander then prime with primer paint then 120 then prime let dry between and one coat of your color then let dry then 400 wet paper then finish coat

Clean it up with a Wire wheel on a drill or hand grinder and plaster some TigerHair Fiberglass filler in the holes. It lasts forever and is fairly easy to work with.

Don't use regular Bondo it's only designed for Very thin skim coats to smooth out very small dents and imperfections.
