Anybody who would let that happen has no business owning a boat, or for that matter a car either.  That jeep is a total loss.

eh... it's salvageable.  He definitely won't be driving it away though.

All that needs to be done is find a really large zip loc plastic bag to fit the Jeep. Then fill with raw rice and zip it up . After a few days it will start right up. Lol.

At least that's what I heard you can do with a wet cell phone.

Well, having spent 30 years in the insurance industry and seeing quite a few flood damaged cars, I can say that under than much water every single seal in the tranny, engine and all of the drive train will have leaked and allowed water to get in. In addition to all of the electronics, complete interior replacement, I seriously doubt if the company that insured it will want to do the repairs.

that is the number one thing to do at the boat launch is not to sink the car!!!  I launched a boat at this very steep launch and it was a bit scary in a 2 wheel drive, then this dummy comes flying in to launch and bitched about the 10 min it took me and ended up sinking his truck into 30 feet of water with boat strapped on! he stepped out of the truck and left it in neutral, all he could do is watch...lol    I loved it!!

The number 2 thing is to make sure the stern straps are unhooked before backing it in, the drain plug is in, and the winch line is not disconnected until the boat is in the water. I watched some douche bag back a brand new Boston Whaler down a concrete ramp, and then he un-hooked the winch line while the boat and trailer were still about 30 feet above the water. The second he did, the boat rolled off the ez-load trailer and slid down the ramp on its bottom. This was about a minute after I suggested that he not do that until it was much closer to (or actually in) the water.

This kid was taking his boat OUT of the water...his fiancé was in the passenger seat....he was lifting the motor when the thing started to roll....and like hemps said...there was nothing to do but scream and watch...his girl got out of the car after the water was pouring in the open windows....his boat was strapped into the trailer....felt really bad....

I saw the same thing you did another time LOM....this guy had a sailboat (fiberglass) on a trailer on a really steep ramp and had undone the straps at the top....he hit the brakes about halfway down and the boat went off the trailer the rest of the way to the water....there was a 5" wide and about 1" thick smear of fiberglass all the way down the ramp.....ouch!!

That is a very "sinking feeling" watching your whole rig go under . . . . . har!

When I launch I always leave the boat hooked at the bow and back down until the boat floats then I put it in park, set the brake and Turn the engine off.

Most cars wont let you turn the key all the way off when it's still in drive. (automatic transmission)

Never be in a hurry . . . .Take your time . . less chance of making a mistake, the guy behind you that is chomping at the bit waiting for you to get done can just wait.

I've seen two 20-24' boats roll off the trailer and eat concrete. Motors, transom and glass all get an ass kicking. Haven't seen it happen yet this season but all is not yet lost, Labor day is coming.

Hey, I once passed a speed boat on the highway traveling 100 MPH. Once the boat went off the road, it started tumbling, which tore it to pieces. The largest part that was left was the engine. I bet the driver in that big ass Hummer, was real surprised when he got home with no boat. I15 heading from Vegas to home in CA. The guy in the Hummer never slowed down.

It's easier to get a vehicle to run when its dry.

Much less embarrassment asking for a jump than a winch.

If your truck gets submerged while running I'm pretty sure the heads will crack and engine would be toast.

What ever your routine is just make sure you set the brake and be safe.
