I'm sorry to say that I didn't know his real name or where he lived, but one of our regulars knew him and passed the news onto us. He was a good player, always fair and never caused any problems. He will be missed. RIP The Venezuelan musician and producer Manuel "Manolo" Alvarez, who was active drummer of the legendary group The 007 , July 23, died yesterday of a heart attack at his home in La Florida urbanization in Caracas. Alvarez was also a member of the famous Daiquiri band, which had renowned success in the 1980s and 1990s as a pure desire to love . Born in Caracas on August 2, 1944. In the 1960s he traveled to Boston to study radio production. Later he returned to the country to participate in various projects such as The 007, The Dart and Daiquiri, among others. In recent years, in addition to their presentations with The 007 was devoted to music production, as a radio announcer with a programmed called "From the beginning" and as a music teacher. The 007 was founded in 1965. The name of the band contributed Alvarez, seeking to break with the usual nomination rock bands with names of animals or cars. Its original members were José Galpasoro (lead guitar and vocals), Javier Atance (bass and vocals), Guillermo Berincua, guitar and vocals, Manolo Alvarez (drums and vocals) and Jorge Chapellín (lead vocals). The group achieved immortality with the theme "The Last Kiss" and its catchy refrain "and why it was, and why he died."
