although i was using acr and no other gun ....i am for one glad its gone that weapon was way too over powered and ridiculously accurate.....very noobish gun

M16 is just as accurate but 3 burst sucks. Fuck the acr, I'm more pissed about no tac nuke in carepackages. I haven't had one since it was changed. I can't find any thread where we discussed changing it, I don't think anything game wise should be changed without discussion.

Ok a couple things since this seems to make the rounds every so often.

 

First, the ACR was a full-auto M16 and totally unbalanced. It shouldnt have been that way in the first place and several things were done incorrectly. So it was the most noobish gun in the entire history of COD. Of course nobody told me at first and the complaints, to more than just myself, about the correct balancing caused me to say fuck it and out it went. Never coming back.

 

Two reasons for the nuke change. First consistency with MOAB or whatever in the other games. Second because of the added re-roll in addition to Hardline. It was too easy to get for a 3-kill ( 4-1) streak with two chances. So it was moved up and also made a free 4th streak for everybody.

 

A few weeks ago in another thread I said if 20 is too much then server admins you need to get together and take or vote on whether or not to lower it and what to. 14, 16, whatever. If nobody cares to do that and provide me the results ( how many voted for 14, or 16 etc ) then there is no reason to change it.

One of the many reasons I left the server. I miss re old mod with noob tubes and nukes.

The care package based Full-Tac Nuke is still there in the Attack Care Pacakge (8 kill streak), right Sammy? China Lake is still there, M16 has the across the map, range and accuracy just no full-auto. 

 

Other thoughts, in the scheme of things does it matter that the ACR was over powered? I mean everyone/anyone could use it and people enjoyed it, AFAIK. I honestly don't know who complained about it. Do we have fewer people complaining now?

I didn't realise the tac nuke was in the attack package (if it is) so a chance at 8 kills is cool. When I go into kill streaks it says that if enabled you will get the nuke at 25 kills and I was like ok bye bye nuke lol.

 

I remember people bitching in the server about the acr, but people bitch about any weapon they repeatedly get killed by, its human nature.

 

I will say for the record though that some changes loose us players and we need to be careful about trying to keep the server fresh and not loosing the people who made it a fun place to go to. After all it's not much fun being the only player in a 30+ slot server is it? lol.

Yes its there. For the nuke 25 is the default. After it was switched over to this mod it was reduced to 20. I dont know when. Making changes, of any kind, means some are going to like it others are not. There is also a difference between 'better' and 'necessary'. One is totally subjective. The other is to deal with something that is seriously wrong or unbalancing to the game.

You guys do realize the this game is broke and you are only making it worse. When the gun shoots its bullet spread gets greater the longer you hold the button. The broken part is that where your sights go the bullets don't follow.  You get a random animation for gun sway and recoil and another totally separate calculation for bullet spread that don't match. So while you are trying hard as hell to adjust the sight to hit the enemy the better you are at it the less likely you are to hit him because the code make the bullet spread get farther from the center aka where you are aiming. The ACR was one of the guns that allowed you to compensate for that.  Counter strike was the same way but the recoil was calculated first so if you sprayed more than 2 seconds you would have to aim at the feet to get a head shot. There are a ton of forum post about it and videos.  if you watch the crosshair in the video and where the bullets are hitting you will see what I mean. BTW he is better than most at handling the recoil  



Either way I haven't been playing this game in a while or tried the new mod enough to say I miss the ACR or not. I'm just saying that making the game harder to play by nurffing the one gun that made the games mechanics feel better instead of trying to buff the rest kind of make no sense to me.

On another note. I have played first person shooters since the first quake and never played World of warcraft or any other MMO's. I started playing Elder Scrolls Online and I just can't stop.
