Looking for a old pc that runs windows 95 or 98, I need for a child to play learning games on. I have the games they just won't work on xp or 7. I'm willing to pay for it and the shipping if anyone has one just laying around they don't use or want anymore.

If you cant find a PC with that O.S Installed you can always check e-bay or your local triff shop for some cheap PC and install it yourself?

How old are they? Do they require DOS? You might have a hard time finding a computer that is more than 15 years old at this point. I think depending on the application you would have a much better chance getting it to work on a computer that is running XP. there is compatibility mode and programs like DOSBox that can help with the really old stuff.

Otherwise there are also a significant number of websites dedicated to educational games that don't charge much for content or subscriptions. Many are also free.

@@blackcat There is always the program by Oracle, VirtualBox, where to can create operating system within your current system. I've used it many times in my college classes. Very safe and easy to use, if you have knowledge on installing a operating system then thats all you need and of course youll need the OS installation files for win98. If you go that route let me know and I'd be happy to TS3 with you and walk you through it.

https://www.virtualbox.org/            <-- site with info. I may have to look into doing the same to run some starwars discs I have from                                                                         the  90's that were only compatible with IBM and Win95/98. :)

What @@DemonElf said, install XP in a virtual machine, infact Windows 7 has Windows XP mode (Free) executing XP programs natively.

Let me know, I have a closet full of old socket 7 m/boards, video cards, & cases that'll never get used. Desk drawer stuffed w/DOS 5.0-6.22, WIN95 to XP pro disks. Need to chuck all that crap, but hate throwing things away that still work.

you could try using emulation software like dos box, or setup a virtual box using something like virtualPC
