At times I share it. We try to enjoy the game but that's sometimes difficult with assholes spawn camping and setting Betties near spawn or in a location where you can't avoid them in getting out of spawn. There was a time that wasn't allowed. There also was a time in XI when the focus was ALWAYS on the players, supporting them and being immediately responsive to their concerns. And now they're labled whiners if they raise those concerns? Seems to me that the message Dean's been given here, basically, is to fuck off. Whether he was right or wrong, that's no way to treat any long-time member. There just seems to be a touch of arrogance settling in when members are given the message to STFU and just play the game, and even ridiculed. There's too many people with too many demands on that server. We have to find an inbetween spot. I've told Dean he may call me out any time and we can duke this out. Its all nothing but a matter of opinion and a difference in how player perceive the rules. I've got Cat and DJ trying to teach me how to be more Head Adim like and I love that I have players telling me what they like and want and somewhere in that mix we have to find common ground. I think the DM server is great and from time to time Beers tosses in a candy for everybody . It works there is no reason to change gameplay. What I think is missing is the player are not finding ways to switch up their game when the flow changes. At least I, for one, am NOT telling Dean to fuck off. What I am doing is upholding the rule of this Clan on COD WaW servers that spawn camping, and bettying is not allowed. Further, if if there is no way to enter the primary field of play except by exiting a tunnel, and that tunnel exit point is being bettied/camped, the net effect is the same as directly camping/bettying the spawn point itself. I think he is justifiably angry that there has been an apparent overturning of this rule by another Admin. Regardless of whatever was actually said in-game, any overturning of the rule is simply not the case. The rules stand as they always have. What I find disturbing, among other even more troubling issues with all of this, is the frequency with which this seems to come into question. I really don't get what some people don't understand and why we have to keep regurgitating this shit over and over and over! Years back on our Quake/COD servers we (Admin Team) got tired of trying to please everyone's complaint's so we implemented an "Auto-Script" that was easily scalable with perimeter adjustments, to cover our "Set in Stone" Rules. It simply worked like this: 1st offense = 2 on screen warnings that your action would lead to Temporary Ban. 2nd offense = 1 hour ban 3rd offense = 4 hour ban 4th offense = 48 hour ban 5th offense = Permanent ban but could appeal the infractions were cumulative. It seriously took care of 98% of our problems. One of the best ways to kill a good Server is for it to appear the Admin Team is playing favorites by succumbing to the "Grey Area" while enforcing rules.
