I think it sounds pretty interesting, and we should consider trying it out. Maybe converting the US Hardcore server to a classic mode server. If it sucks we change it back? That way we have 3 server types, a softcore, hardcore, and pudgy core. Since the EU HC server got rid of its minimap its like a regular HC server now. so we have 2 regular HC servers. vary it up a bit and have one of each server type. I think it would be cool, but if nobody wants it not a big deal either. just thought I would bring the idea up. it basically plays like BF2, and I loved BF2. Some highlights of classic mode no doritos when spotting softcore damage model/health, but no health regen or auto repair Only spawn on squad leader you lose bullets in your mag if you reload before empty no 3rd person vehicle cam friendly fire off by default killcam disabled I tried it out the other day and enjoyed it. I think it would be a bit more tactical than softcore, but still able to utilize all aspects of battlefield like minimap unlike hardcore. I think friendly fire should be on, and i wonder if we got a classic mode server going if we could turn it on or if that would throw it into a custom server field. Have you actually tried playing on this mode yet? I was suggesting it because it is a neat new mode that throws back to the old style of play I found more enjoyable than current BF4 softcore , but not dieing with 1 bullet like in HC, and it may bring in yet a 3rd player base. I must say.... I like it even more than softcore. I figure if we opened a server like this that it would be full 24/7 based on what we saw with the servers we were on. There are not many classic servers out because its so new but the ones Ive noticed like Urock seem to be full at all times, they were even full at 9AM this morning which surprised me. the three popular ones are Rush, Dom, and Conquest. So if you guys are going to do this I would propose a mixed map mode like our HC and Softcore servers. Should def try it for a few weeks and see if there is a interest in it. Though it seems this is gonna bring another EU hardcore vs US hardcore war on. The reason the US server was made according to you guys was the removal of the minimap, but now the EU server is the exact same game play. I don't think Ive ever seen such an odd power struggle within a clan to the point where members are threatening their tags just because they might get a higher ping and a slightly different max number of players. The admins make decisions on what they think is best for the clan, there is nothing wrong with being against it but giving them an ultimatum just because you don't like it is just childish. Good few members were clearly annoyed of the point the server was nearly removed. They argued and were able to keep the server. By then thinking of changing the server around is gonna do nothing but cause more arguements. Should just leave the US hardcore as it is and keep the regulars on the server happy. People love their Locker/Metro 24/7. Those are the only servers that are fully populated 24 hours a day. Aside from that. FUCKING RELAX, PEOPLE. Mouse is just bringing new ideas to the people. Stop thinking that new ideas means your precious USHC server will change. That was obvious from the last debacle that we went through regarding this. If you want ideas to be kept to the admins and not shared, we can do that too. Lets go with some actual stats though shall we? Its definitely a lot easier for me instead of listing the 600 or so empty hardcore servers. According to bf4stats 12.49 percent of all HC (keyword search HC, Hardcore, and classic during prime time) servers are active with 4 or more players while 13.49% of all classic servers are active with 4 or more people. What does this tell us exactly? Its hard to say because of the difference in the amount of servers with HC having over 800 servers to roughly 300 classic but as of right now classic is slightly more active on a per server basis and would fill a completely different niche then what we currently have. Of course switching the true HC server to classic is only one of the possibilities, there are many others including a new server just for a month to see how it does (is this possible? I do not know what the XI funds are like) or even what duck suggested, which is switching the true HC server to classic at around 9-10pm GMT (where its least active) to see if classic can keep it active. I do believe it would be silly not to explore the classic niche just because a few people are against it. Here is what the true HC server looks like now in terms of activity. I can play SC or HC or classic. The game is fun for me all three modes. I was just trying to make suggestions that may better the community as a whole by offering up servers with 3 different types of gameplay. made sense logically to me. The only reason I suggested the USHC trying it out is because we have a EUHC server that is basically identical now that we got rid of the minimap except for a few extra slots, and I noticed the USHC server usually sits empty when i play from about 6pm to 11:30pm Central time. I'm never home in the morning so i'm unaware of the server traffic at the time, but i just checked battlelog currently at 9am cst it has 0 players. Ideally I would like to setup a whole new server as classic, but that cost money. Again I just wanted to open the forum for discussion. I didn't say the HC server is going anywhere. just tossing around ideas, and wanted to get input from other clan members on what they think about it. I actually like the US HC server, and is my favorite server to play on, but it is dead most of the time that i'm on.
