I am trying to figure out what board and proc you are exactly looking to use. I can't find the version of the board that supports that proc.....

Let me know.

If you go for a 1970 mb you could get the AMD 8350 8 core and upgrade your speed to a 4.0 with little expense. Then later when you need to you can go the i7 compatible but it's much more expensive! Just a thought!

I'd look for an I-7 bundle.  Like a 4790+MB combo.  I just picked up a bundle from Microcenter for around $330.  And it screams.. I'm historically an avid AMD user, but I decided to move from an 8120 8 core AMD to the Intel 4770 and its a huge difference.  I'm not sure I'll go back to AMD.

I have to agree with Deemer, the current line of i7 Procs are fantastic and you can get a 4790k for about $280 and a decent board for under $150. Microcenter seems to have some great combo discounts as well, buying a board onsale and with the $40 they give you for getting a proc was huge.

Just a thought:: The power supply is the backbone for your whole system.Everything works smoother with a good power supply. And a name brand as well. It makes a huge difference. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371060

I found this at Newegg for $234. Its a modular one so if some day you want to add another video card you 'll have the cable and the power you need to handle it and no unnecessary cables in the way...

I am a big fan of Sapphire. I have nothing but good luck with their cards. Why such a small processor though. I have this and its rock solid. Mine is overclocked to 5GHz and it is fast. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=19-113-284

8 cores way better than 4.....

Check my profile and see my rig.

NO to the 8350.  Trust me.  I was on that bandwagon too until I replaced it with the 4790.

I luved amd and ati\amd radeon cards but kept getting freezes and software craping on me. I went to 3770k intel and have had no problems I luv it and im sure in intel is even better paired with 512 gig ssd hdd and 2t old hd as storage . all im say is at least go with i5 intel  to save money  and at least 8 gigs of ram  but I would rather buy dual 8 gig ram and have total of 16.and my comp 2 years old all ready . so new intel u see hella diference.
