So this is a mod issue as it stands right now. Lets see how the night goes and if anything changes

 

 

I don't wanna hear about the guns or the mod itself, this is just to let me know if its a mod issue or something else. I just needed to get an old mod on the server is this is the one I had

yea just still getn lag or ci which ever it is ...seem to skip around just not getn ci symbol...but sure its what it si tho

You probably can't really count me, with my crappy internet. I played two maps after the one I was lagging in, and no CI's or lag in either. Right now, I'd have to say it's either mod related.. or the DDOS goons are taking a vacation this afternoon.

 

Gonna have to get in a couple of hours of play time tonight... for business purposes of course!!!!!  :lol:  :devil:

As for 'nobody checks'... I hate to burst your bubble but I make mod comparisons and run the mods all the time. Find out where the differences are. If something looks suspicious work it out and see what it is doing different. Currently there are three mods in the developer workspace. "Programmers Notepad" if anyone knows what that is. The acr one, noacr, and the next 1.45. In actual fact I spend far far far far far more time on this mod than I should be but I do it because I want it to work and be fun.

 

There is lag this and lag that. But does it happen when everybody is running around? When one team is mostly frozen? When a lot of people are defrosting at the same time? Maybe defrosting two at the same time? During certain streaks? Certain maps? Who knows maybe there is no lag at all in TDM or other objective games. But of course nobody will play TDM to find out.

 

'The old one is better'. Yea?  All I see is "oh wheee acr!". That kind of thing tells me some of the problem isnt lag but that the people that dont aim their weapon and have to deal with recoil suck. "Realism" games generally dont succeed because of this. This is a common issue. In the gaming world crybabies all over the place so what do developers do? Reduce or remove recoil in the next game. Money and making sales is what is important not game balance. They say it is, but its about the money.

i dont mind the old or the new mod but these settings are not the same on the old mod  im running so slow now and its not cause im used to the new mod

Yea @@LOCO I noticed the same thing running is slow. Reminds of the time we used to run 333 fps. However, as @@Ruggerxi said he put up what he had so its possible this mod doesnt have the fixes we used to play with.

 

On another note, @@Sammy needs debug data but when we are playing we are not actually paying attention to these things, unfortunately. Maybe if you get time you can spectate the server while its full.

 

I will re-state I saw some people teleport but at least for me the game play is smoother. We shall k ow better when the europeans and austrlians start connecting.

well acr mod has 10 exploding crossbow shots any way to cut it back to 2...10 is bit ridiculous....also so far as of now im not even seein much lag even on my end rt now....@@Sammy i personally dont think the lag was a mod related issue ...its with in the pipeline to the new server....its different pipeline than original ny server...the noacr mod workd fine on it b4 the dos attacks....

yeah we had big ci spike on acr mod just minute ago . to me more server line then mod. maybe in new mod can find away to reduce checks on event so server doesn't spend time with redunt checks. but to the modder I appreciate the hard work and thanks to all of you.

also ppl complaining bout how long it takes to play maps time limit like 12 or 15 min can we get that back down to 7 please

I tried out the mod mw2 was changed to tonight, and I still get the same issues I was getting before.  The other players appear to be running in place, when I shoot, by the time my bullets reach the enemy they've moved 5-10 feet in an another direction, and I still get CI's and screen-blinking, is how I can describe it I guess. Kinda "un-fun" now to play, if I may make up such a word lol.   I did a traceroute on the server IP and got hung up with packet loss at xo.net.  Also ran some other non-XI server IP's and got the same location hanging up.  It appears to get stuck along the Chicago/DC/NJ/NY path.  Not sure if this helps, but it's what I've found so far.  Going to figure out if it's my ISP next......

Forgot to mention also, that I found a thread in another game's forums that discussed the same exact issues at the same hops when the poster had performed a traceroute from his location.

i found the old mod, quite irritating.. got use to the new mod, and all the huge probs with CI and cry me a river, i havent noticed as that bad! the more i got use to it, i actually thinks the new mod is better. dont care about the ACR, i dont game for my stats or skills.. i game to have fun with friends and idiots, laugh, sing, do silly things on the server and what do i know.. sooo... shouldnt we just take back the new mod and stop crying and so on.! and go have fun! :-)

Thank you for all your comments and opinions. This is now looking like a bad hop that is causing the issues for the people that use that hop. I will be changing the mod back to the new mod and we will have to live with it until they get it fixed. 

 

The other option is to move the server to Chicago but then the overseas players would have a higher ping that they already have.

How everyone already noticed the, sentences are strongly divided, and well because everyone has their different opinions!

 

I got used to the old mod, whose long time play, but that's just my opinion 
 
and for this reason I would like to ask whether it is possible to enable 2 old server on the old mod
to give people choice?

I found the older MOD very irritating but I think it was because of me getting use to the newer MOD. I found a few issues with the older mod like the hardwire problem and the exploding arrows but it all just seemed slower and ancient. As for the lag issues, my ping is the same with the older mod as it was with the newer mod, I would have the same amount of lag spikes in both so it is not mod related. I can almost guarantee that it is the quality and location of the company we are using for our servers and of course the haters thats been fucking with us. I feel unless we can find a server company that uses servers in space(LOL) we might just have to deal with it for awhile.

We are using NFO servers, they are the best of the best, we can't use a better host because they are #1

 

The only way to fix the issue is to move the server to a different location

it really never had no problems with lag or with something else, 
only delay shooting on that new mod "I shot and shot and the opponent does not die" 
shooting opponent  20 bullets in the back and he did not die for me is not real 
 
I am using all standard configurations game hmm

I was quite enjoying the old mod. *grumbles*  but I like playing both so I guess no complaints. This is just for Cobra however. I miss that damn ACR!!!    :lol:

I will admit I miss the feature rich noacrmod and the oldacrmod has its charm. I wonder if we can merge the two together.... anyways not the point of the discussion. I have comcast 50Mbps real upload download is 12/58Mbps and I don't have an issue running the traceroute to the server. The routes ISPs take to direct your traffic makes a big difference. I am guessing the size of the mod + plus the hops make for variance everyone's had in CIs and lag. Well, that's the nature of online gaming.

There is a great deal of internet traffic these days especially with all the streaming services that just keep getting bigger. Maybe the heavier use is starting to show flaws or malfunctioning equipment that werent noticed before. Or there are shenanigans.

LOL.. I was definitely liking the old mod.. I felt like a super hero :)     That ACR really does give a big advantage.  I've really had no problems, other than the normal lag/CI's that I usually experience from time to time because I have such great internet.
