What billionaire that everyone knows very well is pushing Common Core and how? Don't worry this is not a conspiracy.

BTW has anyone ever taken a Microsoft Test? It looks much like this.

The Common Core answer Dos Man... is.

Dos... you have a partially eaten apple. You can tell because it is not all still red. You can tell it is not made of flesh either because you see no blood on the inside. You can tell it also is not an insect because when you squash it yellow stiff doesn't come out. You can also tell a human ate the apple because of the teeth marks. You can tell it was not a dog because there is still apple left. You can tell it was not a cat because cats don't like apples.

Because we are just to stupid to figure things out for ourselves anymore.

The example above attributed to Common Core is a fiction, as are all other such examples of screwy math and English that you find on Facebook and elsewhere. There IS NO Common Core curriculum. There is NO Common Core textbook. There are NO Common Core rules on how to teach.

Common Core defines what students show know in English and math at the end of each grade. That's it. That's all it is. It is a nationwide set of standards that we've long needed. So why are people against it?

Well, teachers are against it because it tests the product of their work. And for the most part, their work is failing. We are handing high school displomas to kids who can't read and write, or balance a checkbook. Some states are against it because it will reveal the horrible job they're doing with education. And, it will reveal that states have been lying to parents about their childrens' progress.

Don't buy the bullshit being peddled about Common Core. Learn for youself:

Well, regardless of what it is called, the problems and solutions I've seen my nephews bring home are definitely not fiction.  The solutions are so ridiculously arrived at, that as a former math & science tutor, I would have difficulty at this point helping a student with such.

The purpose of Common Core, is to dumb down all learning to the average stupidest kid in the class. This way, instead of getting left behind and possibly needing to repeat a grade or class....the whole class gets dragged down with them and they all graduate barely knowing anything. You know...it's the same principal that most liberal progressives believe in with regard to wealth re-distribution. Rather than figure out ways to make everyone better...they would rather re-distribute the pain and suffering to everyone to make things "fair". This is the reason why I have home schooled both of my daughters. My older daughter just turned 16, and is currently taking all of her classes at the local college. When she graduates from high school, she will also be graduating with an Associate's degree at the same time. My younger daughter is 14 and a freshman, but is currently reading and doing math at a junior level. Most of the bureaucrats and politicians that voted for this crap don't even send their own kids to public schools....they go to private schools...because as we all know....Socialism is for the people....not the socialist. The real 1% in this country are the politicians...they all think they know what is best for us "little people".

Socialized banks, medicine and now we introduce socialized schools. Common Core died the death in Oklahoma, may it be tarred and feathered elsewhere too.

As for home schooling.... that great fucked up stat of California is making it harder and harder for parents to home school. Nope no conspiracy here. Or over here... of even over here. Everything is normal in California.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
  1. There are no statutes in California that specifically and exclusively deal with private "home education" as distinct from private schools.
  2. Compulsory attendance at public schools is required for all pupils who are age 6 by Sept. 1st (of the new current school year) until they reach the age of 18 years [E.C. §§48200, 48400, et al.], with special provisions and exemptions for 16 and 17 year olds [E.C. §48410]. Exemption from attendance in a public school is provided by the first three of the following four legal alternatives.

I'm all for Home School when it's done correctly. In my years in the ministry I have seen both sides of that coin. Kids who had dedicated parents that were home schooled and are doing great, and some that got little or no useable education because mom and dad cut corners.  Don't get me wrong, I am all for parent's having the right to raise their children as they see fit, BUT home schooling (my wife did it for two years) is a huge commitment and if the parents fail, the kids are life long victims.

Common Core is a tactic (forced down the throats of the states)by the FEDS who want our children uniformly stupid.  Becoming so frustrated they give up and then its OH DON"T WORRY THE GOVERNMENT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

This is also a large part of the reason public schools fail children.....because the parents don't give a shit...and see school as 8 hours of free daycare for their kids. So an unengaged parent is just a dangerous for a public school educated child, as it is a home schooled child.

Right...because I lock my children in the house and they aren't allowed to interact with any of their friends as a home schooler.......not exactly. Both of my daughters still participate in the local schools via a couple clubs, (FFA and 4H) as well as participate in the drama department productions of plays and musicals...plus all of their friends from the neighborhood we live in, so they get plenty of social interaction. This supposed lack of social interaction with home schooling is a myth.

I agree that parents that do this need to be willing to put in the effort to make it a success. There are numerous resources available to parents that do not have the educational background of a typical teacher...as well as private tutors. I have a medical degree and a masters degree...and my wife has a BSN...so we both have the knowledge base to make it work out for us fairly easily....but others can succeed if willing to put forth the time and effort.
