I am a console gamer who just recently, as in today, joined the bottom ranks of the PC gaming world. I just received my first gaming PC ever. I have had laptops in the past, but never anything as powerful as what I have in that desktop. I am brand spanking new so I do not know how things go when you play PC. I will need a very BIG learning curve for a while, as I have never used a keyboard to play anything other than a browser game. Hopefully I will not aggravate you guys too much. I also have no idea what software I am supposed to use to communicate with you folks, e.g. Skype, ,ooVoo, Groups, etc. Hopefully someone can point to a thread that explains what software is best for communication. I have decided to download a few of Steams free-to-play games like DOTA, Hearthstone, League of Legends, Team Fortress 2, and I already purchased Garrys Mod for some fun times. I also have an interest in possibly streaming to Twitch and making some videos. I have streamed on the X1 before though. I have no idea what I should use to stream on the PC. Anyone know of a good inexpensive......errr......FREE video editing software? Now for my quick little BIO. I am a 29 yo Paramedic in the Atlanta, GA area. I have been in public safety since I was 18, started with the fire department when I was 18. I received my EMT at 19 and my Paramedic at 23. I am married with no children. My wife is 22 and hates it when I game on the X1 so I am sure she will hate the PC as well. I have a weird appearance for a 29 yo, I sound and look like I am probably 16 or younger. I get asked all the time how old I am. I work all the time, so I am not an everyday gamer. I usually work four to five days a week from mid afternoon to early morning. My regular shifts are Wed-Fri from 5pm to 5am. I pull part time jobs on Mon & Tue. My other hobbies beside gaming include woodworking, geocaching, up cycling, biking, & working. I hope I can find some folks to help me with the whole PC thing, since I am a noob. I also hope I can find some interesting characters to stream and make videos with.
