If i throw an EMP nade and then die b4 it goes off it wont disable the car. Anyway to fix it or just something to live with ?

It should disable it regardless of whether you live or die. The other question is if the car was within range of the EMP blast.

I don't think it has anything to do with the mod, it depends on your ping and connection settings, there's a bit of delay between pressing 4 or whatever your bind

for a special grenade is and the grenade being actually thrown on the server's side. It happens to me a lot with normal grenades, I die and on my screen I dropped a grenade but on the server it wasn't processed yet.

I've used a lot of EMPs to see what actually happens. I was inside a building, an enemy came and I killed him and then a car came to defrost him so I moved and tossed an EMP nade but got killed right after. In the few seconds between dying and then spawning frozen I could see the car defrosting a guy who was right on me and it was also where my EMP landed and exploded on the car but it just drove away after defrosting him.

@@Sammy has the blast radius of the EMP been increased? It stuns cars that are nowhere near it.

I know people were complaining about them not exploding on impact so was this the "cure" for that?

They seem massively overpowered now

A couple weeks ago the range was increased by around %15. I am considering a couple possibilities for 1.46 such as making the nade into more of a short term emitter like how its used for defrosting. It will instead emit a shorter range EMP field for 15 seconds. So for an anti-car you can throw it ahead of where the car will go and it will still get it unless it turns away. Or simply throw it at your feet and keep moving forward hoping the car will still try to follow you into the field. But if they pay attention they will see that you did this, or see the flare, and go somewhere else.

 

Yea there is a bug about the nade exploding after you die. On my list. One of those things that nobody ever told me about until recently. Or if anybody did I dont remember it. The nade will explode right after it stops moving. Like stun.

 

For games there is no 'cure'. Just proper game balance within the parameters available with an eye towards all players.

well at least they do work now :)

 

not sure how much the range  is now compared to a few days ago, maybe the range is a tiny bit too much, i dunno.

 

i thought about this and wonder if instead of blocking the car, it would just slow it down a lot. that would make a good chalenge for both, the car and the target.

not sure if its possible

Chile is just making fun of the fact that mini nukes have less range now. @@Sammy, I think we sort of talked about it that EMP nade bounces around and explodes after it stops. I also thought there was a timer to it, because if I would throw it afar, I thought it exploded mid-air. Any rate, EMP has a few bugs here and there. The corner case EMP feedback issue, is still there in some cases.

Corner Case: Getting Effected by EMP after car blows up but its not all the time now. I am guessing something to do with network delay.

Ok the emp nade saturation area idea works. Default timer 15 seconds and still working out the range of it. But it will be smaller than the initial blast.  If in range of the emitter you get the same emp effects. No minimap or hud, no streaks, jammer effect. When you leave it goes away. The exception is if you got hit by the blast itself. That doesnt stop until the 30 second timer runs out even if you run into and out of an area.

 

That is for players. So the question is, what should happen if a car goes through it? As always I will only include opinions of those that actually tell me. If you dont, and end up not liking it, well I cant help that. :lol:

slow the car badly, not totaly but make it slower than a player can run
