First you go to your start button and type in msconfig. When that comes up select the boot tab. Then select the advance tab. There you should see where your cpu's are listed. Click the menu on the cpu and select the number of cpu's you actually on your pc! Then I selected the memory tab and selected the full memory available to be used! Now you click apply and restart. You should notice an immediate improvement with the way your pc runs and specifically in game!

This has probably been posted before  but WTH

Razer Game Booster is a free download and it works great.

It gives you the ability to shut down everything not needed while gaming or any other app you want to run.

I have it installed and I am very impressed.

all that is for is start up you will still use all cores unless you have the checkbox check for a different number. Try unparking the cores use this link. http://www.coderbag.com/programming-c/disable-cpu-core-parking-utility .Download is at the bottom right befor comments.

Okay I tried this and I have an 8 core but this only shows 4 which it unparked! I don't know what that's about but something isn't working right. His example uses an 8 core and it worked there!

not all your cores are parked it will only unpark the ones that are. after unparking on your keyboard push Ctrl+Shift+Esc when the window pops up go to Resource Monitor then in the next window hit the CPU tab and on the right side it should have your cores 0-7 and it shouldn't say anything above them if you unparked all. If need be hit me up on TS

As @@Leadfinger suggested I gave Razer Cortex (now called) and it works great. Def a keeper. I noticed a difference in game and in downloading maps. Now @2manybeers will have to find something else to make fun of me. ;) !FU Beers!
