while working on navarone i had some requests to rebuild snowypark for dm gametype.

Since its not a to big map and a typical dm run and gun map i started with it.

It has the stock ambient sound aswell whats been used on mohaa's snowypark.

We used to play that on Nam FT but for some reason it never got put back in our rotations .Cool map.

That's cool. Usually in Mohaa they take Snowy Park out of rotation. One of my server admins, when I was running my clan, changed Snowy Park into daylight without snowfall and changed up the spawn points because they all use to spawn on one and the same spot. Also made it so you couldn't climb the trees anymore and camp up there. It was good fun! Can't wait to try this in the ft server if it's going to be in there. :)

ill make sure this one isnt passing the 50mb so this one can be played on the FT server aswell.

The rocks are able to be passed through by players, however the bullets can go out of the rock, but not in. Besides that, a great map

The players were complaining a little about spawning so close to the other team. Also I was wondering about taking out some of the tree stands as you can defrost a lot of people from them. The game runs a long time because of that. Just my 2 cents worth but they love the map so far. Thanks @@Icey

Thx for the feedback hunter.

The freezetag mod is new for me and i never played it myself so its hard for me to get the gameplay right for it while making the map.

Perhaps u can explain me a little what all is involved in freezetag so i can adjust it a little.

Was planning to release a update this weekend so i can make some changes before that if i get the idea of whats needed for the freezetag players.

Well the point of FT is to trap and freeze all the opposing team in there zone. So the mod uses SAB spawn points. The best way I've found to place them is in a TDM set up of CTF setup but  having two different areas so the opposing team has a hard time trapping everyone in the spawn area. So lets say 3 different spawn locations each on the same side of the map but placed in different locations. Like in the image below.

I have found some time portalling does get in the way of unfreezing your team mate same as foliage. What I think is happening there is you need direct line of sight to unthaw and some foliage with collision applied as wel as the portal texture seems to block the weapon ? Just a guess but its is a close guess. I wouldn't worry to much about that part the most important part is allowing the player a chance to escape a  spawn area without getting spawn killed.

Thanks Labob while in the tree stands you can also defrost a lot of people as foliage doesn't seem to interfere so thus makes the game go on to long. Come over and try it out sometime and get a better idea what we are talking about love to have you play. Maybe we can get you in there sometime Labob and give that map a go with a bunch of people playing.

perhaps its possible labob makes a post on mappersunited (he's registered anyway there :D ) aswell so other mapppers can take this into the maps they creating. not many considering freezetag gameplay while creating the map.

 

cant say much atm since w're in planning stages but i can say that alot of cod5 maps comming this year.

Would be nice if we know  the FT mod so all new maps support FT.

OK thanks for everything you and the mappers are doing much appreciated. You will find us playing most nights from 7:30 pm EST and also some play in the afternoon about 3:30 PM EST. If you going in sometime to play let me know and I will try and meet you there.
