Six million men, women and children were murdered during the Holocaust. Many were Jews, others homosexuals, socialists, artists or trade unionists. We must always remember this atrocity and never allow any section of our society to be the subject of hatred or persecution or made scapegoats for our problems. Never again! I had to go to Warsaw (that in itself is an extraordinary story), and one of the greatest honours of my life, and a very proud moment for my dad, was when the Canadian embassy asked me to lay a wreath on behalf of Canada at the monument to the Warsaw Ghetto.
