Leaving from Montana where the traffic is light and roads are good i go thru Wyoming where I have to endure Howeling crosswinds and "here hold my beer and watch this" manuvers in a 1 ton flatbed with no regard to the speed limit . . . . .but courteous waving as they pass you . . . . . . Once I enter Utah I notice the number of newer cars and trucks its kinda strange how many newer cars there are in Utah. I also noticed that a lot of people in Utah drive fast and loose and with an 80MPH speed limit have a lot of oppertunity to display .those "skills" I'm still trying to get that "swooshing sound "of a SUV towing a trailer full of ATVS passing me at 85mph out of my head. Tomorrow I enter the amazing state of California, I anticipate a "here hold my beer and watch this" attitude by a freak driving a SUV towing a trailer full of ATVs going 90mph flipping me off as he blows by me . . . . ..ahh yes Californian's the "best" of the of the nation in a melting pot surrounded by the best weather shackled with the highest taxes and the worst air, and not enough water to go around . . . .and to think I used to live here . . . .. . .I hope I remember how to flip the bird after i cut someone off. lol hxtr, Millpucky, little_old_man and 1 other 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options... If you flip the rat to some out here now they might shoot back. a lot of knuckle heads here. Where in CA are you headed to ? The tennents moved out so its time for paint and a new roof. My first taste of good old fashioned "dickheadedness" came while I was navagating thru the Las Vegas "spegetthi bowl" and some dude was offended by my "i dont give a shit if your in a hurry " attitude and he got a bit pissy. Its standard for trucks with trailers to go 65 mph most of the time in Calif . . and I understand why if your going 55 mph and everyone else is going 75-80 it feels like your standing still plus constanly being cut in front of and losing your safe braking distance just because some dickhead needs to get to the juice bar would get me pissy too. I am looking at perhaps a trip to Northern California this summer or early fall. I plan on bringing my boat to go bass fishing at Clear Lake. How far is it to Clear lake from where you live? My first thought was "gotta flush the weed" . . lol J/K I look out the window and right in front of my house are 6 black and whites I counted 8 cops guns drawn and pointed at a Ford Crown Victoria. I could hear the cops yelling at the occupants to show their hands. I instictivly took cover in case shots rang out . . .now days bullets go thru almost anything. The helicopter continued to circle above with the flood light looking all over my back yard and neighbors yard. Because I didn't know what was going on and the way the copter was looking so much in my back yard I grabbed the .40 and chambered 1 up and sat quietly listening for anything unusual. After about 10 minutes the copter left and the 6 cop cars out front turned into 10 and they were ripping the crown vic apart. Couldn't tell if they found anything but they took the 3 occupants to the cross bar motel and towed the crown vic. A Sad reminder of why I left this state in the first place . . . . people just shouldn't have to put up with shit like that going on in their neighborhood. I applaud the police for there work and if those guys were up to no good then I'm glad they did their job without anyone getting hurt. Its just a reminder of how things have changed in this town in the 6 years I been away. I will be ready to make my way back to my peaceful little town as soon as I get this work done. Getting cut off and passed by some "chowderhead" on some back road in Wyoming doesn't sound so bad now.
