So just to recap just one of the Breakfast Club (can I call it that?) Adventures of the past week...

 

We encountered a some other clan's server one morning (because ours had gone missing from our favorites and history due to the update) that allowed so many weapon buying points that we couldn't use them all.  Or more likely we just hit our weight limit and couldn't carry any more junk.  But it made us want to see that happen on our servers, too.  Maybe not to that extreme; it should still be a little bit of a challenge, but I think when you need to blow up a weapon cache and can't afford the explosives to get the job done, maybe we're being too restrictive.  Even an additional 4 purchasing points would probably help a lot.

I agree. A lot of people don't get any nades to blow up the cache... So it turns in a hide and seek game.. Which can take long if no one is moving. Can they be auto purchased? Or.. Like djMot said.. More points.. But who says they won't use that on gear or weapons etc..

 

Also, good job to the admins of insurgency and the people who make the server mods and maintain the server :thumbsup: Great job!

You can always get grenades or explosives even if you have to pick up from dead enemies or teammates, you just gotta juggle your points around, or you might have to pick a weapon that costs lower points if you still want red dots or scopes on them, this game was deliberately made this way to stop weapons from being overpowered like BF4 etc, one of the videos or reviews i posted explains this, for me it would be a backward step, i like the fact that you just cant load your weapons up with everything available. One way of making sure you get an explosive is to remove all points from your weapons at the start of a game then pick explosives first and then pick your weapons and whatever else after that, i think most of the problem is that people still don't know how to load up properly or they pick their weapons so fast to get in the game quicker that they don't look at what default pack they have and forget to load up with explosives, some classes like "Breacher" or "Demolitions" already come with explosives in their pack, other classes you might get a Molotov or a Incendiary grenade, which is all you need to blow up a cache, if not then you might only have points to take 1 grenade, if you find you have no explosives all you have to do is go back to the last "resupply" point and resupply, even if you didn't pick explosives at the start all you have to do is hit "Kit selection" or "Squad selection" and you can change your packs around as often as you like as long as you are in resupply zone, don't forget as the game progresses if you are doing ok you earn extra points and can still add stuff that way, the server DjMot is talking about was a Coop server and even though the bots were on the easiest level we still got our arses handed to us even though we loaded up with every perk you could get, these bots were either overpowered or there might just have been a shit load more of them then in other servers, this might work in a Coop server but PVP would ruin the game, it would just make it a "Call of Duty" game where all weapons and scopes etc are available at the start. thought we liked this game for what it was, why do we need to change it.?

I kind of like juggling my kit around depending on circumstances. If I am alone in the co-op I sacrifice weapon additions to get an explosive. If there are a few people playing I'll ramp up the gun stuff and expect to pick up something off a dead body. IMO it makes the game a bit more challenging. However, if the membership wants something a certain way then I am for it. It's a server for idiots after all.

Co-op...I've been in a couple of those kinds of servers too....you get like 40 points to pick whatever you want.

In PvP .. sometimes you got to blow up 'A' or 'E'  .. You are dead until your team gets an objective, they hang around 'A' or 'E' which is the other teams spawn, keep spawnkilling because they don't know what to do with the objective at hand, since they do not have an explosive. They keep camping the spawn and killing people that spawn. Most of the time they don't understand they can pick up a nade or moli or RPG to use it to their advantage.

 

And for others in here that feel offended by posts - I just post what I notice. I like the game, I like the servers, I like the mod, otherwise I wouldn't be in there that much!

Could we perhaps get a few fixes in server? (PvP)

 

1. Anti Spawnkill mod? - After spawning you have 15/20 seconds to not get shot by an enemy who's standing right at your spawndoor. (very aggravating without it!)

 

2. People that are AFK -> move to spec and not get reinstated in a team once a new map is on. It makes teams uneven because people don't know that person is AFK, and also the auto-teambalance gets thrown off cos it seems  to be fine.

 

3. Also, if you are too late with picking a squad, you don't spawn with your team, sometimes that results in a team only have 1 or 2 players to play that round (lol right @@Predat0r )

 

 

Just tiny lil hiccups i come across in this awesome game. Thank you for your time admins!

1) There's already spawn protection IN spawn. The maps are not that big. You just have to be on guard the instant you leave the spawn. Having extended protection out of spawn would require the maps themselves to be modified and re-uploaded as custom maps meaning that guests would be re-downloading the base maps. Also, it would just be the equivalent of making the spawns bigger which wouldn't really fix the "problem". It's not the fault of the game design if you get killed blindly running out of spawn assuming that it's clear.

 

In some maps the points / objectives are near the spawns, adding a timer would unbalance the game since you could sprint to the close objectives while under spawn protection. This would not work. Sorry.

 

 

2) I will look into this. As it is, the game automatically puts you back into a team each time a new map is loaded.

 

3) It's unfortunate that your team wasn't fast enough to spawn with the first wave. Nothing to be done about this in some game modes. To alter it would be drastically changing the way the game modes work. Also, it could easily be abused. (leaving and rejoining to spawn instantly)

If a third server does come to be, I'd like it to be open for fully custom stuff like Maps/Mods/Increased starting points. This way it gives a more open feel to the game and widens the player spectrum for who plays on our servers. Those who like the hardcore vanilla feel can play on the original, and those who like a modified game feel can play on that server. That is just my opinion on this. :ice:

Any chance we might get this mod, it would be great in Co-op, sent the link to Rugger last week he said he would love to do it, this will be even harder to play than a normal Co-op as you can only kill the Zombies with a head shot, i know Zombie mods have always seemed to be popular with XI, might bring in new players, just a thought.

N1 Rugger, i just subscribed to it today on Steam and now when i play the Co-op game my weapons screen is adorned with Zombies and when you press tab key it shows you the bot team names and how many kills and deaths they have, in the screen that tells you who is the most valuable player it is now adorned with severed arms with bits of bones sticking out lol.
