Just sums up how everything you do on windows 10 is just being sent straight back to their data centres. Windows 10 is  just one big botnet.....Better off just staying with Windows 7

Yep, pretty much...

Free software is never free.  That's been true for all WinOp systems for a very long time. It's true with Apple as well, they're just a bit more discreet about it.

Some of that is kinda needed because too many people just dont bother with the things that are supposed to protect them. And in return that affects the rest of us that do. It's unfortunate but to protect such people from things like bitlocker or malware from the Russians its needed. Especially if they have kids that download stuff from who knows where or go to websites full of malware so they can get the latest game cheats for their xbox or play station. Kids are generally stupid, dont think about such things and they dont particularly care about the PC. Just their game systems.

But... the parts that do things like track what you say, write, and all of that, now that really does smack of NSA style surveillance. However I doubt they are sharing information now, voluntarily anyways, since their previous cooperation has been exposed. That wont stop them from hacking into MS anyways. Like before. I suspect some things will change. At the least things will be off by default. Such as the xbox bruhaha. Yup same company. Makes one think why they tried to do it again.

Not going to get Win10 anyways unless its truly needed. Even tho its free.

It does make me wonder who at MS comes up with these bright ideas that everyone is going to hate. Dont they ever look at places like facebook and their about face when they do something stupid and people find out about it?

It's called "Solitaire" not "Solitary."  Unless you were looking for confinement.

There are (free) Solitaire games in the Windows store.  Relax.

I'm amazed that some people even leave there bedroom with the fear they have. What is so important to you about the info of the virus you downloaded that you do not want MS to see it ? They all ready know where your IP address is from through your  ISP. Sure hope you don't own a smart phone. On this web page the only reason you have the freedom to say what you do is because Rugger and the team says its so. Its not your right in here and no law I think will make it so . Its a private owned site with a ULA that nobody reads.  So why are you on this page BTW all you type is public as well. There are pictures of you and you have given up your location on a 3rd party site look out that's all out there now. Really what windows is doing is trying to stay relevant in there industry. What I'm trying to do is have a good OS that's maintained and updated so my network remains safe. I hope that one day they find some piece of info on me that makes me important enough to store. This from what I've read is the last OS windows is going to make. From here its going to be updated for free for ever. I'd even be happy if they went the same route as Apple and charged 25 bucks for the big updates. This is good and people should do the update for there benefit and not worry about the doom Sayers. OOOOOHHHH NO there's a camera hooked up to the city and police and fire department they're following me now run hide. Run around teh corner shit the bike courier 's got a go pro and he seen me into the cab fuck the bastard took a pic and sent it to dispatch I'm doomed now.

There is so much bad going on everywhere with terrorism and so much other shit that I think "snooping" is a necessary evil....

IF you aint got nothing to hide, why care.....

So much of what we do is tracked or caught on CCTV or some other shit nowadays that I believe it has become apart of everyday life.....

JUST wish they would use more tactics to catch the real fuckers out there causing death and destruction to innocent people.....and to curb those with PLANS to rule the world etc

Thats not like listening into your private phone conversations or reading your emails. As for the old 'nothing to hide' argument, sorry this country doesnt work that way. We are under no obligation to show the government anything at all. It is up to them to explain why they need something. 1st amendment protections and all of that nonsense.

Well you have the right to not upgrade or to not use their software or opt-out, whatever the case may be. The government, Microsoft, or whoever else the case may be is not forcing you to give up your rights, they are telling you  what they are going to do in the terms of service and you accept it...or you don't and maintain your morals, whatever you want to do.

I have nothing to hide, and I know all my data is already out there for anyone to see anyways (Facebook, forums, etc) so who cares if Microsoft analyzes my computer use, knows what porn sites I visit, or whatever. You can'thave a social world, or a connected world without giving up some of your information. You have the option to disconnect your entire lives from the net if you so choose, however you're not going to do that so stop whining and accept it.

Humm.. that is what the Nazi's told the German's.

And what the communists tell the Chinese. Or the mullahs tell the Iranians. Not examples I prefer to follow.

As for opting not to buy or install it, people say that every time. But we all know that you eventually have to or migrate entirely to osx or linux. Assuming either has the software you need and you have the money to buy it all again, for Apple. How many of you still use XP or Vista as your primary OS? What will you do when Win7 is no longer supported? Or if certain software you need is only compatible with win8 or above (and eventually 10)?

Remember that any personal data stored on MS servers can be hacked into by the Chinese. They do it all the time. Like some did to Sony. Both for their entertainment divisions (by NK) or playstation accounts. Also like they did to the IRS. And of course we do it to them. You can say the Chinese, Iranians or whatever dont care about you. That may be true. But that attitude shouldnt be forced on everyone else. Sure these things can be turned off. But remember this is Windows. Things can be turned on again by hackers and malware. Which in turn redirect information not to MS but somewhere else.

Also keep in mind that our own government has its own political shenanigans. Perhaps keywords like 'tea party' and 'money' in what you say and write.
