This system that the "pick-pocketters" use is just the same system as the gouverment shall be using once the RFID-system is 100% completed and is up and running. The primal reason that they have introduced this technology was to make the logistic-transport more easier and to make the packetsproccessing more fluently. Imho you don't need an RFID-sticker on every card that you have, it should only be on your passport because that is the only thing where it's usefull on so you can cut down the waiting times on the airport line. And for those who wonder what RFID has to do with logistics: These bars/stickers are placed on the parcels that people send out and the distributioncenters can just place the parcels on a moving workbench wich has scanners placed around it so they can see imediatly to where that parcel needs to be shipped. An invention to make distributing a whole lot more efficient is now turning out to be a good way to be stolen, because people will only see the advanteges before somebody takes abuse of it. Even I have had the hardware and the software to read those RFID-codes because I used to work with it. So it's just better for the us gouverment to quit using those codes in bank-cards, id's, driver licences and all that stuff and just use it only for the parcels that are being send around the world.
