Thanks to Sammy for giving us access to the beta version of his MW2 mod. This is an update to our MW2 Freezetag mod. Please respond here with any problems you run into and any server performance issues. This mod when its ready will also replace the other MW2 Freezetag mod.

 

 

This server is located in NY, the other server is in Chicago, that's why you will be a ping difference.

hey mab we need 2 mw2 servers cause the one is almost always full and alot of people cant get in to play plz consider it ....if it dont do well then drop one... but i think both will do well alot of people really love this mod

Just to clarify I must say the mod is Sledgehammers and is the project leader. But a few people have been working on 1.4 for 6 months now. I am truly hoping all the known issues from the last official release (or at least most) have been fixed. But Murphy's Law being what it is there is no guarantee without lots of good beta testing and as Rugger posted please let me know of any issues and any pertinent information about what happened.

Add: If you can, test the Snatch and Grab perk. Defrost time was added to it to work the same as objectives but has not been tested in a large environment with many players. It may not actually be good for gameplay, I dont know. But it does reward players who choose it instead of Stopping Power etc. Might be a good perk to have if your team is losing in a big way.

ok i got one for ya .........Clays are working properly or something they have like a 20 sec delay they dont go off fast enough and most people just walk rt thru them...so they arent as effective ......just heads up with map AL Jabar or bajar which ever it is there is some glithes with it like u ll get frozen with ur gun still in ur hand and u still can shoot people and kill them while ur frozen..plus we had one guy who manage to get out of his frozen bubble and walk round the map and could nt be shot and he still could ...might want to check that map out...other than that seems to run good oh some people were complaining bout the speed in the new mod being slower than 1.4 ...oh some were saying that some of the newer maps are way too big for freezetag one in paticular i cant remember the name but it was super big....might get some complaints bout that as well ...oh awesome on both servers....rugger u are the man i know u ve worked hard with sammy and hammer to get this goin good for us and you have done that...most issues are workd out with lags on 1.4 few minor ci s here and there other than that awesome job mw2 team..keep up the good work

Big maps are better, more tactical. On small maps, it's just a field of rabbits, everybody are jumping on any corners, not really cool to play... Undecided

I also found that speed is a little slower but personnaly I prefer. This is between FT1 and MW2 1.4, cool! Cool

 

Like I said on the other topic, UAV doesn't work, but maybe it's fixed now. Someone tried it?

 

The new location of the server in NY is great, My ping goes from 170 (on 1.4) to 125 on that one.

Clay timer is standard 3/4 of a second as in stock cod4. But if comparing to mw2 the timer in that game is 1/2 of a second. If the consensus is that 3/4 is too slow let Rugger know. I think the stock timer in BO was raised back to 3/4 but I dont know what it is in mw3. If you mean literally 20 seconds its highly possible that the first person to run by it had Stealth. In which case he did not actually trip the clay. Or another is that when the first person ran by the clay was disabled by emp at the time.

 

For UAV I will see if I can get on the server tomorrow and try things out. Hopefully I will be good enough to get a 3-streak.

rvs streets night final ...hanging up before map download...still aint got it.

 

on another note, the mod feels smoother all the way around...are the weapon and movement target and settings the same on both mods?...or is it just me?

One more issue Rugger...the killstreaks aren't continuing after you use one just like the old server was doing for a bit.  I'll hit 3, use my car and it resets my streak to zero, 3 more and another car but I had 9 total and no other streak rewards.  I think that change just needs to be made like on the other server...

Yeah it felt laggy for me too, but after a while seemed to settle down and in general its pretty damn smooth!

Well woke up and my first batch of beta errors to hunt down. Thx for testing. Surprised

 

Using a streak weapon does not reset it. Only death. Or at least it shouldnt. So there should be no problem for example using the RC, getting two more kills for the airstrike, and then calling that in also. Is the effect you are seeing that after using the RC the counter is reset, even when not killed?

 

A couple models for player weapons were changed but the various stats controlling how they work were not. Range, sway, accuracy etc unchanged.

It did a couple of maps ago Sammy...I used a car, got 3 more kills and another car instead of my airstrike at 6.  In total I had 9 kills in a row and never got anything but 3 cars so it seemed to reset.  Playing now so I"ll try to get another streak going and let you know!  Thanks again for all of the hard work!

after i used a car i spawned right behind an enemie, and he shot me. i asked him how he could see me because i was in spawnprotection. but he just replied that i wasnt invisible. wierd because im 100% sure i was in sp.

 

idk what happens there, looks like sp doesnt work after u had a rc.

As for seeing a spawn protected player that is an OW sever setting and invisibility is off by default. So a simple config fix.

in the other mod there is no spawn protection after using the car...you blow up and then reappear in spawn, and if someone is watching, youre dead. I like that because you just used a great perk..should you get spawn protection on top of that as well?

thats more of a gaming philosophy question than i think an actual issue.

btw...big props to Sammy for all his assistance...i love the new mod...smoother than the other, better feel and better waepon strength with the m4...i likey!!!
