I t does reduce ping but only by small amount due to the reduced background craplets running. I see about 10 ms difference but that is small enuff to put into the error category. My ping in the freeze tag server 2 usually hits about 65-70 and higher, but if I tweak my config a little, it'll drop it down to 40-50.. Thing is, the only time it actually works for me is when I'm in the MW2 server, or FT server number 1, or the Deathrun server. When I try it for the FT2 server, it resets itself. I did manage a small improvement by taking up the offer from my ISP of an "optimised" service so that my gaming traffic is prioritised when playing supported games. The reduction I saw was in the order of 10-22ms at best, is greatly variable and costs me an extra £5 per month. Whether it is worth the outlay is debatable.
