My sister who's a doctor said that if you want to live longer up to 5 years, u need to exercise five years... in a row! so wtf! as churchill said: smoke preserves meat, and alcohol fruits!

Don't forget the benefits of frying in sunflower oil. It lowers cholesterol! I fry all my bread in this to accompany my fried bacon and fried eggs.

Bottom line is proper diet and exercise.

Rarely do all these fad diets result in any permanent weight loss. Some can do more harm than good.

Suck it up and change your lifestyle or you are doomed to failure

i know how you can lose 20 lbs Shamu and you wont ever have to worry about gaining it back. Cut your head off. :smoke: Edited by hxtr

Awesome progress Damaged. :)

I've been working on weight loss myself. Not doing any particular diet. I pretty much just cut out all the nasty bad carbs and sugars, from sweets, chips, etc. Lots more protein and veggies for the good carbs. While not on the adkins diet, I do buy the Cark Chocolate Royale Adkins shakes, as I actually like them and they are a nice supplement to my new eating habits. I also found an awesome new kind of pasta that only has 5 grams of digestable carbs per serving. They are by a company called Dream Fields. Great stuff. My goal is 27 lbs and Im down 17 now with my new routine.

There is no one specific way to lose weight, but for sure you need something that you can maintain once your weight is off. Otherwise, you will find it all coming back later. :)

update.weight not cumming off as fast but honestly it gets tougher and you tend to treat yourself more after losing a bit of weight. Also you get in a habit of eating the same stuff and that gets boring too,so you have to change it up and make it more palatable..

So far im down 42lbs this wk..

I have a large frame and my cloths are so baggy now but hide my weight loss..I used to be on the last belt notch and hating it, now I'm on the last belt notch and loving it..Ive had only 2 people notice and one thought I was ill since I lost so much weight. Not even my co workers have said wow that weight is gone.kinda funny

You are doing some "damage" to that weight.

Good job, I wish you the commitment to keep at it and to keep it off.

It will not be easy.

update.like pink said it tuff as you get closer to your desired weight...Ive lost 43 lbs while I was sticking to a mostly paleo diet and working out every morning before I hit the shower...But Ive hit a plateue since the weather has changed as well as my routine. It gets colder here in illinois and I use to work out on my deck outside in the early morning when my kids were getting off to school and it was warm out side ..Its hard to do that now....so I try to work out at lunch time now which is more difficult amd is more like 3 times a week which is ok but 7 times a week really took off the weight compared to this....so I have maintained my diet and still lose but more like 1-2 lbs vs-4-5lbs a week..the last month Ive has major sore back musctles to deal with and knots in my back....this occured as I pushed my reps higher in an attempt to push myself...oops..i

ve toned back some now.. and Im trying to just be consistent and tru to the diet...so far ok except for the rum and diet coke nites recently..went off plan for past month but still lost and never gained so Im doing ok..trick is stick to paleo diet....gl all

btw some great things that happened were getting resized for my clothes at work going down 2 pants sizes and actually cutting my belt idown and cutting in a new notch ....also wearing cloths from 5 years ago and they are a bit loose...

update..Bascicaly Ive maintained the weight Im at and Ive lost 50lbs....Had the change in weather here which messed me up and I really stretched my back muscles out which really put a damper on things...I have changed the way I eat which is mainly a paleo diet..No sugar or anything that turns to sugar mainly....Nothing really white ...Basicaly whole foods, allot of vegtables any type of meat, leaner the better, fruits and nuts to snack on...still drink cofee no sugar now but use small flavor packs like vanilla or hazelnut in small quantities....still drink booze too...probably 2much

My aches are now gone and Ive gone back to working out 3 times a week with better form as to not strain my back...Ive maintained this weight and have not gained any for the past 2 months even with a trip vegas ..So my next goal is to lose maybe the last 20lbs that will really suck in my lower gut..and make the love handles non existent...now that im actualy comfortable I think this will be very hard to do especialy with winter around the corner......not sure if im ready to start yet....I was really hoping by now my wife would join me but she has others things happening now..and this is a very stressfull time for us at the moment..so Im just hanging in there one day at a time for now...

goodluck and I hope this inspires someone else to keep at it....just get in a focused routine till you achieve your goals...then maintain and be aware..

I have had a weight problem since I was a 2nd grader when I apparently was the only kid that liked and ate the schools food. Lol! I have been on every kind of diet you can imagine and had a lot of success with some of them. The problem is almost every one of them have side effects. You may not notice them right at first but they are there. I went on the fat free diet and lost 75# but as soon as the holidays came around and we was making the rounds of dinners and parties that was out the window. I also tried the Adkins diet and lost almost 70# on it, but then came the holidays lol. There is something about holidays and food for me. I also counted calories but didnt have near the success on that one and got discouraged. I have come to decide that for me if I eat healthy and exercise as much as my knees allow me and if I am happy then I am doing good. I found out that my depression has all my life would spike me into binges when I wasn't feeling good about myself so to me your mental happiness counts huge into this quest of the weight revolving door most of us go through! Just be happy and most of the battle is won!

Exercise, eat 5 times a day ( fiber rich food ) and drink a lot of water.

Hunger is often mixed with the feeling of thirst.
