CTF brings a much different style of gameplay, although I think some of it is attributed to being fresh to a lot of players. I'm willing to bet 60% of the current BF3 players never played CTF BF style, and so things are a little crazy. The maps themselves feel nicely done. I like all of them on conquest, and the vehicles seem to be evenly distributed. I said I didn't like the anti-air vans, but they seem very vulnerable (no shit, they're vans) to littlebirds / Z11 counteroffensive. I like what's been done, and I'm glad CTF was brought back. But I don't like how short the games are. The game can very easily become a stalemate when either team sits on their base playing defense. Then you have very few attempts at getting across which means if one team manages to get just a single point, the game is pretty much theirs, But so is the problem with pretty much CTF in general. CTF is quite enjoyable though, with large teams and flags defended with mines and claymores, most games I played yesterday ended 0-0 with the result decided on kills(?). Of the new vehicles, the dirt bikes are best. I like the drop ship paratrooper spawn option. I haven't yet tried air superiority as I've only played on the XI server. I'm usually one to stick up for BF3, but for the last expansion of this game I feel a bit let down. I thought the devs would have been pulling out all the stops for this one but the buildings look the same (or at least I can pinpoint which maps the basic design and layout came from) and the motor bike doesn't live up to the hype. Dont get me wrong, the overall look of the maps are beautiful and I really enjoy CTF, I for one just thought this game would have went out with a bang...and this (as of right now) feels more like a fizzle. Ok, there is my rant. I still think this game is amazing and will continue to play it until BF4 comes out, and even then will still jump back on for change of pace. The maps are really nice but the CTF gameplay is a little rough for 64 players. I think with 24/32 players CTF would be a lot more fun. Just too much Javelin/Mine/Claymore spamming with 64 players. Overall though I do like the maps and they will be nice to add to the mix but I don't see CTFD making it into the map rotation once the newness wears off. New maps are always welcome of course. But in general its a let down, agree on spamming, and dont forget the anti air spamming too with the new AA vehicle. We have been playing conquest since day one so it will take some time get into CTF. I love CTF because it opened whole new door for me to play this even more for me. But it's little rough playing it for 64 but that brings best out of u.. Need a better squad and proper strategy to grab enemy Flag. They are all i use to get around, bc they are so fast and easy to get around with..
