Let's change Giggles sniper server over to the new ace mod. Then she can play that one. Every night this week when I get off after work there has been at least 10 people in the ace mod.

As far as spawn killing goes, sometimes it just happens. when you run and gun fast, you come around a corner and see someone and shoot, when I see that my shots arn not doing any thing I stop and run the other way and get killed, which sucks. I don't want to be known as a spawn killer, some of these maps are real small, its just spawn carnage. and some maps are so big that a lot of people just camp. I have run around maps at least 2 minuts and never see anyone and there are 10 people playing, so I leave. Now I just check on our webcite to see who is on the ace mod server and say yes or no about playing, and its no a lot of times. Its still my fav. server, I used to play almost everyday, now maybe once or twice a week. My 2 cents

Wake up this morning and there is 4 people playing on it already. @@sabreeyes as far as small maps / large maps this server is actualy still testing maps to see if they are any good and we are already getting rid of it? I have dropped alot of small maps out of rotation. We are on rotation 11 of 15. Anyone can tell the admins that the maps sucks so I can take it out of rotation. I agree with 600 some maps in rotation we should not be so picky about leaving a map in a rotation. Someone says it sucks during play then it should be removed.

The new ace mod will be on the server tonight, there won't be any real changes you will notice except a little spawn protection adjustment and camping addition

But I do not think we should persecute people who like to “camp”.  Camping is a playing style, just like knifing only, run and gun or mostly using a rocket.  Ask Budman about Rockets :lol: .  Would it be possible to include invisibility to the spawn protection, similar to Freeze Tag?  I think that could help eliminate spawn camping.
 

Otherwise, I am all for some new bells and whistles.  I think it would be like doing your wife after she had a boob job.  It’s familiar, but new and exciting.

I've played ace mod tonight, i didn't like the camper warning.  I think we should have invisible spawn so you can run away like in freezetag.  i do agree with the others  that some players camp the spawn, and the tube should only have 2 nades.

Hi ,i play ace mod for the challeng of sniping run and gun, its fun ,,, there is a diffrence between camping over a spawn point or route out of one, i know most of my deaths are there, its auto fire, some of it cant be help,.. its all way was run and gun , and any style was weclome,its fun, twice as fast and twice deadlly,,, i was playing to i still snipe, and run more, but the pusiment is wrong, its to fast, and if your going up or down a long ways its doesn;t know the diff, this was tryed befor,bud said it a trial, thing ,my vote is the was it was, I agree with the spawn camping some and to many tubs,2 or 3,,, i would like 3 cays lol to carry an sub with my sniper rifel ... couse i will snipe ur ass ,,,,  heheheheheh  oh snipe maps suck ,staying on one side where that, A sniper sneeks up and kills , any where ,,,, Clifford the big RedDog955i :devil::(:stuart::rant::lol:

I agree with highjack, nice ly said, ivsables spawn, then you could sneek up and spawn in and shoot  hhaahaha ,,, but it would help the spawn camping by us alll ,,,, :X:stuart::sick::whistle:

I played in Ace Mod for the first time in a over a year since I finally found and reloaded my game disc.

 

I figured out the grenade launcher and I love that weapon. It's a lot of fun!! Just ask Joe Canadian....

 

I don't know the maps well enough to know a spawn point from a camping spot but I fire as soon as I see someone....if you just spawned there....well.... you are dead.

 

I hope to get some more time in that server but I have no problem with it the way it is right now.

 

Once I learn the maps and spawn points though....I hope to tube and Knife Joe as much as possible......... :coffee:;)

 

I think there are two, or three different issues here: The camping, the spawn kills and the nade launchers. Lets not mix them up. Nade launchers are a lot of fun, They are not "dumb weapons", you require some skill to be able to hit a player who is hiding on the opposite side of the map with a sniper riffle.  Nade launchers, RPGs, bazookas, C4, claymores, nades  and such, are all conventional weapons used by the military. I don't really understand why we have to restrict their use or change anything about them. Just wondering what the next step would be.... limiting Deans knife kills because in a "real war" nobody runs in a battlefield killing enemies with a knife?  

 

The real problems are in my (not always) humble opinion the camping and the spawn kills. I honestly have nothing against campers, they are in fact my favorite targets, I love tubing, nading or knifing them.  If we are going to limit the camping time lets make it 60 or 90 seconds, the current settings don't work that well. I don't know what to suggest regarding spawn kills, I run and gun all the time and don't even know where the spawn points are..

Yes, you are right. The launcher needs a lot of skill. And yes, they are conventional weapons.

But it is very annoying when you get killed by a nade or c4 which has been fired or thrown across

the map and you have no idea from where. This mod allows you to do things the game was not

intended for.

 

- reach areas you won't be able to if the speed is at a normal level

- Grenades, Flash, C4 etc fly farther than usual

- higher fire rates

 

etc etc.

 

I have nothig against the tubers only the ammo should be reduced.

I tested it this morning whith two regulars ( SPUCK and corsicaman ) and i have a few remarks :

-The delay to be called a camper is too short you don't have enough time to use a med pack or use a claymore

-if in a building and detected as a camper the fact to go upstairs will change nothing as the system consider you are still in the same area

-would it be possible to disable the anti-camping when using a sniper rifle ? or at least give more time to snipers ?

The AceMod we have (or  had) was the finest COD4 server with the greatest folks.   It's why I'm <XI>.   There are core regulars that like what it is.   With the new outstanding map rotations it's da bom!

 

Changing  it because census is  down is, in my opinion, folly.   This is an OLD  game.  There are  hundreds of new games competing for player attention.   Changing it in the mistaken hope that it will somehow attract new players or entice others back will only drive away the stalwarts that enjoy it for what it is, (was), causing perhaps a brief increase in census followed by an even greater loss of players.

 

The  current idiotic anti camper gimmick  has  instantly turned  the server into a dimensionless run-an-gunner with no opportunities for getting cleverly attacked or figuring out clever ways to attack.   There are often places in maps that cost you to reach but might offer commanding fields of  fire.  Those are all out of reach with the anti-camping annoyance running.

 

Please return it to what it was.    Create a new one  if someone wants anti camping etc.

There are people who just sit from a distance with a sniper and zoomed in on the spawn only,,

anyways I played it last evening and thought it was better, But again thats my opinion...and it won't be everyones.
