I would like to put anouther 12v battery in the truck is there any conflict with doing this, the truck came with a place to put it on the left side.

Positive to positive with switch, body ground fender bolt  at new Battery box, wire from ALT to + on second battery no switch.

I plan on using a 110v 1000W power converter on this one so I dont run my main bat dead.

Thanks Phil

contact your local dealer they should sell a kit for that. And there should be  no adverse effects if installed properly.

note Gounds are very important !!!

Just make sure the switch on the positive lead stays open when you're not using the converter. Otherwise it won't charge while your engine is running.

1 question how long you planning on running your inverter ? note: max amp DRAW LOAD is 10 amps

or make a 12V  gen-set  gas powerd motor to run a ALT with built-in regulator on a board  with your inverter and batt

this way you have both  12vdc charger  and 120vac on tap 7/24

need to use a  Battery Isolators to provent  dead batt  if going to use AUX batt set-up

The charge wire is a small 10Gage wire from ALT to + of secod Bat / when the power goes out I sleep in my truck and plan on plugging in my Fridge while I sleep / keep food (Beer ) cold

the large wire is incase I need a jump from the second Battery.

The truck wont see the added Bat (right) it is still 12V just 1500 amp insted of 750 amp ( more heavy duty Battery ) Truck wont be abel to see that or will it ??

thats what I dont know in the old days it was simple but I dont want to take out my computor by hooking up the other Battery.. ????? so my delima

I checked at the dealer i work for and there are no kits avaiable.....but you can buy all the parts seperately. If you do that no Battery Isolators are needed.

It is very much so possible to do. And all advice is correct, you are on the right track. The only thing I don't see mentioned that you will want to (and may have to) do based on the usage of the additional battery, especially being another 12V, is you may need to change your alternator to one with a higher amp output. Your truck will see both batteries and will consider them as 1. So in order to keep the 2nd battery charged, you need the output from the alternator to compensate for the added power usage. I did this to my Ford, running a winch and TV etc... on the 2nd battery and all I did was duplicated the alt to battery connection, and the necessary wiring and fuses to the additional electronics. As far as possibly needing to use 1 battery to jump the other, just use jumper cables LOL. You'll be simultaneously charging so you wont have to drain 1, and or just swap out the pos./neg. of each battery to run the car with the good one, while the other charges. Any rate im rambling on now. So yes its possible to do it, good luck and enjoy it.
