I think a scratched disk 1 may be the culprit. So, I tried again using my sons disks, but now I'm getting a "can't install because there is a newer version already installed". Can't Uninstall because the game doesn't show up in the list of programs. So, I'm in a catch 22 and not sure what to do. I beleive I may need to remove from registry, but can't locate it there either!! Anyone ran into this or had troubles installing because it thinks the game has sucessfully installed (but didn't)? BUT GET THE SAME MESSAGE. THINKS THE GAME IS INSTALLED, BUT DOESN'T SHOW UP ANYWHERE EXCEPT IN ACTIVISION FOLDER. LOOKS LIKE IT'S THERE, BUT NOT!! CAN'T UNINSTALL EITHER, SINCE IT'S NOT THERE! That's what I did (even before seeing your post!) and that worked. The restore took care of clearing out the registry, which is where I knew the problem lied! For all you that may convert to Windows 7.......INSTALL USING XP mode and have a Flash player installed first!! Thanks for the input gang!! Disable autorun, manually install from the executable, and use XP compatibility. Tweaked a couple things here & there, but it runs fine under 7.
