I was advised to buy a new hard drive because my old one has something on it that is a virus of somekind! I got it and installed many of the things I need and then I went to chrome which is my default browser and there it is again! The same damned virus and it was spread to this hard drive via Google chrome cloud! I have no way of contacting Google about this issue but I have some questions anyway! The one way I may get rid of it is un-sync google chrome and shut my account down there except my email and then start anew and fresh whereby there should be NO virus! For those of you in the know will this work or what else do I do!  This whole thing is very very aggravating and makes me really agitated so when someone jokes with me I don'r think it is funny! I just want to fix it once and for all! I did the search thing to find how to remove it but the things it tells me chrome won't let me do! Any page I open there if I touch it on the tab and click on it , it closes not comes to the front page! I have no access to the settings page and that means I cannot do anything in it. I have uninstalled it but when you re install it and you sign in the damned thing even on aa freshly installed chrome has the same probs because it uses a cloud! I am very very upset about all this! I need help asap!

Do you need to use chrome? You can use internet explorer... Yes I know the IE haters will talk.  Or Firefox. Just remove Chrome from the picture.

As for the Virus... U should have been able to just to a complete reformat to remove it, and delete the partitions.

I suggest just dropping chrome...

Good Luck

Download Ccleaner and run it. It will help remove the Conduit Crap plus it can clean your registry too.

Usualy with these types i just end up saving all valuables (pictures, music, etc...) and save them on flash drive with compression software (winzip/winrar) and just wipe the whole hard drive with hirens. and start new. when you get windows up and running get an anti virus software like norton or avast and scan the flash drive you had your valuables on to be sure the virus didnt hitch a ride on it. i know its extreme messures to get rid of a virus but when you get a nasty one its the best thing to do to be sure its gone for ever!

The problem is Chromes Cloud! How did the virus get on the cloud to transfer to my new hard drive since I haven't transfered any files from the old to the new? If I can access my settings on Chrome I would have it fixed in about 30 seconds as I have on numerous other ones! I really like chrome most of the time but this creates a whole new problem that could affect anyone using it! If it's going into the cloud then anyone using chrome could eventually subjected to this and have no idea where it came from! Tiger I am using IE at the moment but I don't like it but what other choice is there right now?

Firefox is my browser of choice. i also use avast, it seems the malware and viruses are getting tricky.  I just installed 8.1 a few days ago i was up till 1 in the morning doing so.  i went to bed and woke up and found 5 new programs installed on my computer.  This happend from what i thought to be a trusted program which was infected with a modified .EXE that allowed new programs to be installed without windows permission. I deleted them and installed Avast! right after and it fixed the problem.  Its good to know where a virus came from so you can quickly remedy the problem.

Chrome is just a computer program. If it is causing headaches get rid of it and use another. The whole 'cloud' thing is overrated anyways and totally unsecure.
