I would play it but map downloads are like an hour. What the hell?

Been working on a few minor bug fixes and as a test I gave Duke a thermal option like for the airstrikes. Its really cool. Should I keep it in?

For me, it's been sporadic.  I assumed the slow downloads were due to the DDOS attack.

Since the nade has a dual use both as EMP and defrosting no points were enabled for it.

I just entered this server IP into my "favorites" and it comes up with no info in the list...and when I try to join...it times out. Is 69.9.170.61:28960 the correct IP or has it changed?

I had to shut it off for a little bit to download the console logs to look for errors. Online now.

New modff uploaded.

 

Various bug fixes.

If body armor absorbs all damage players will still receive 1 point of damage. The practical effect is that players will get knocked back normally.

Thermal option enabled for Duke. Uses the same thermal keybind as sniper rifles and airstrikes.

No I wouldnt say that. I am putting off various additions until I know whether or not the mod would be used more consistently. I have to divide my time among many different things. This is not meant to be a dig at anyone. Just a matter of whether or not people wish to use it. If they do not then thats ok. Sometimes there are changes I make for game balance reasons but not everyone likes them. That is normal player behavior even for 200 million dollar games much less a free mod.

 

I will be quite frank and say often Activision and other companies remove the balance changes. Not because they are bad but because of complaints. For them its about the money. Since money is not a factor for me it is not. After consideration I look at what is best for the game and mod.

Hi everyone. Posting a demo vid for a different gametype that in the future I can upload to the new ow2 server. Its called Battle Royale. An earlier test version of the game was on another XI server several months ago but it has gone through a lot of changes and is much more stable.

 

It is an 'elimination' game with no respawn. All players start with an empty pistol and a knife. No primary, explosives or perks. During the game at random intervals helicopters will drop various kinds of care packages that will contain a random primary weapon, attachment, perk, explosive, primary/secondary ammo resupply or body armor. Any player can take it. Other than type, as shown by head icons, the exact contents of the package are unknown. If you have a primary, and take another, the older primary is lost. If that primary has an attachment it is also lost. Same with taking a new attachment. The current attachment is lost. Players can have up to three perks. If a fourth is taken the oldest of the three is removed. Players can only have one explosive at a time.

 

There is also a single elimination server timer that applies to all players. If no player in the game makes any kill before the timer expires (60 seconds in the demo) a random player explodes and the timer resets. So it would be best to search for and destroy your enemy. In the unlikely event that the match timer runs out before all players are eliminated all remaining players explode and there is no winner. There are also rotating minefields that appear and disappear at random intervals.

 

Since for this gametype to work it will require me to waypoint all maps in the rotation with sever side mod scripts it will depend on how much interest there is. At first the rotation will have 8-10 maps, mostly stock. And before anyone asks... no streaks. :lol:

 

edit: In the vid, the player has 10 rounds in the sidearm on spawn but that is for testing only.
