A friend of mine has one of those for his water cooled quad core i7 setup.   It's a fantastic case, plenty of cooling.

With all the fans I would hope so. Just so it doesnt sound like I am next to a 747. One thing that kind of bugs me is that the connectors to the external fan controller are proprietary. I think.

He has a fan controller, and says it's a standard 4pin?  It was amazingly quiet.

One thing I am unsure about is the power supply on the bottom.  All the various demos show the fan drawing from the outside bottom. But I dont know if I can do that due to clearance on a typical carpet. So, can my existing ps be installed upside down so the fan draws from the inside as normal. Actually not even sure that is a safe thing to do anyways or if it causes the ps problems. I would hate to buy a new one because this one isnt even a year old yet.

edit: nm. Says I can do either. I just hope the ps doesnt balk at being upside down. Hard to beat 99 bucks tho.

I have the Corsair 650D , which looks nearly identical internally. The legs and power supply implementation appears very similar. I just checked my clearance to the fan on the power supply from the carpet. All is well, thankfully! After reading your concerns about the carpet, I had to make sure that I didn't miss something with my build.

Looks like some kind of mainframe out of the 80s.

edit: It did occur to me that an upside down fan has the problem of what might happen if some small part drops into the fans.

No  don`t  do that  i have a piece of wood  about the size of the  case under it  The psu  has to be place as it has to be   fan down not up  I  saw it has a filter that you can take out  so that is good

It is a nice case

Got my case today. Its very nice. It is also bigger in width and height by 2-3 inches. Which normally is a good thing. But I will have to put it in a different location so I dont bang into it. One thing I will have to do eventually is get some USB3to2 adapters for the front panel since my mb doesnt not support 3. However I knew that already and it can wait.

edit: I forgot that as a gift years ago I was given a metal tower platform with wheels. So the clearance on the bottom for the powersupply with the rubber feet should be no problem.

Does it starting windows from hdd and dvd. Also not posting very fast either. I can see if its a corrupt install, even tho its only a week or two old, but why the install disk also? I suppose I will have to just dismantle it again and start over. I am hoping I didnt fuck something up putting it back together.

edit: ok works again, had to reseat the ram.

Hey anyone have this tower? Or experience with the brand? After lots of looking around I figure this is a good middle-range one and this morning there was a price drop so its hard to pass up.

I don't have that tower, but have used other corsair products, and they make wonderful products, I usually run corsair power supplies, and ram.

Sammy I have the 500R and I fucking LOVE it.Only thing that I hate with it is that the WHITE LEDs on ALL of the fans are UBER Brite.

I had to spend $5 and buy 50 good Red LEDs and change all the lights over.I could not Stand how bright the White LEDs were.

If I had to get another Case it would be the White version because it is a tad bit easier to keep clean. But again I would still change the ridiculously brite White LEDs.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139010

It has a 3 speed fan control built into the case and even on High ALL of the fans are Super quiet.

1st thing I would do is remove the plastic mesh dust filter in front of the 2 front fans.It cloggs up with dust very very easily,The Thin mesh plastic dust filter gets staticly charged and well it sorta keeps the dust out but gets clogged up fast.

Other than that it's the Best PC case I've owned yet for water cooling and easy installation and super easy to keep clean. I've had a couple really really nice cases and a bunch of not so nice cases and this one would be 1 of the best so far.Oh and it's Built very sturdy.

Here's a Pic of Mine after I changed out all of the LEDs to red LEDs.I've had this case for a little over a year. It's a little dirty because I haven't dusted it out since last fall.

My camera HATES taking pics of dark objects.Either to damn dark or to bright.

Last year i built an entire new rig, with the Corsaire 750D case.  It is a bit more pricy than yours, but wow what a case! check it out.

Bought myself two CM Stacker 830 Chassis back in the day. Good case but no longer the latest and greatest. There are many other out there with cpu cutout, more water cooling friendly, and larger fans/more airflow. If I was in the market for another computer build I'd consider:

HAF XB (cube shaped)

HAF XM (Larger sized Mid Tower)

Or any brand name chassis, with good airflow design.

I would avoid most MATX cases since it's hard to mange in them if you have large hands. Stay clear away from non gaming cases with only two fans. Don't cheap out on important parts such as Chassis, PSU, and overall guts of the pc. Though if there is lower speed CPU that's almost as good as a next one up, and cheaper go for it.

Building PC's can be a fun adventure but it's not always cheaper to build vs buy prebuilt gaming rig. Here are some reason why to build:

1) You want to avoid having Windows 8 on your new rig.

2) Want to be in control of your rig.

3) Like to work with hands.

4) Looking for a new adventure

I'd have to advise against this nano-pc for gaming. I heard bad things about Intel HD 4000 ect. Perhaps in the future but let someone else be the guinea pig.

Now that everything is put together I like how the case turned out. Its certainly bigger than the older one. The need for a platform due to the underneath intake for the PS also makes it taller. I might have to rearrange some things around the desk because of the size. But things are pretty cramped as it is and I dont know if I can.

Its pretty quiet with just the included fans and PS. Just the airflow. Its still kinda noisy however and the source is the CPU cooler fan. But its one of those Zalmans that look like a turbine facing to the side so its supposed to be a bit noisy I guess. I just thought it was quieter when I first got it. The loudest sound is not from its airflow but the fan hum itself. Pretty sure its going full blast. It came with a plastic fan control but its not in it right now. The MB has some kind of smart fan controller based on CPU temps but never tried it. Or if you need a 4-pin fan, which it is not.

Because there are already enough openings I have the top grill covered with a book. It helps and there is less sound coming out from the CPU fan. Anything I can do to find out if the fan hum is unusual, or a way I might be able to lessen it if the fan maybe got dust in it or something? I know fans dont last for ever. This one is around 3 years old I think.

I was going to say the same thing. Get it off the floor!!! you should have it at least on a table!!! Off the floor big time. Even when you vaccum or walk by. You would have to blow it out atleast 2 times a week!!! This is My setup53891bfc0878b_1378480_664757653556256_14
