I keep getting a ton of ads and pop ups on my internet browsers. Is there anything out there to clean that up? I've used AVG, and JRT, but those just aren't helping anymore. Can anyone help me with this

There is only one way to get rid of this you have to clear ALL your web browsers then clear history and run Ccleaner to remove cookies and such

and check for programs that were just added

Sounds like its powered by Ad choices which is a browser hijacker

Google  ----   how to reset browsers and how to remove ad choices

u dont need google chrome.

firefox have a better plugin for ads and popups here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-edge/

and it would be a good idea to install ghostery

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ghostery/

now u may be infected by some nasty stuffs no plugin will resolve that, but will prevent a bit.

to clean those u can try malwarebytes

and

adwcleaner

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

those 2 will eliminate most adds and malwares nasties, thing an anti-virus dont.

I reset the browser. Cleared my history, and did all of that stuff Chkn suggested. Looks like it wiped everything. So much easier to browse now.

Hm, I don't think it's just spyware, you could just have a virus, what I would do is defragment your computer after that get the CCleaner off the XI website and use it to clean your registry, after that reset everything in the browers you use, and then try using one of the anti-virus you have, personally I don't use an anti-virus program because I can navigate without getting it.  But I like System Mechanic the most out of anything, Avg is shit, norton is a joke, Free MC security is just the same as norton, you basically don't get very good protection if any from free anti-virus programs and they usually suck the life out of your CPU and Ram when they're active on your PC which is ridiculous.  Un-install any unnecessary programs such as boatware that came pre-installed on the computer and just clutters shit up.  Like HP and Dell love to do.  If this doesn't work tell us and we'll see what goes down.  I can also try doing team viewer with you and install system mechanic on your computer, run everything and then put the anti virus on yours run it see what turns up and keep using it since I don't, it's also already paid for.

To make informed decisions about AV programs, I suggest you keep an eye on Virus Bulletin.

Contrary to what another commentator has asserted, AVG performs very well all the time and

is consistently among the top-rated programs.  If one uses the web without AV cover, one is

asking for trouble.  Ensure all web plug-ins are kept up-to-date and deactivate that for Java.

Ad blockers and script blockers beef up browser security considerably but one has to strike

a balance between ones ability to use the web and programs that inhibit web sites.

I'm pleased to read that you've solved your adware problem.

Well I got a call from a customer and their Internet was getting slow.... 50/5. I go eager to try out SUPERAntiSpyware in a real world experience. I started scanning all the PC's and it only found tracking cookies.

The site has Bid Defender and Malwarebytes installed. On one PC both were disabled. Installed this and it found all this.... and zero of it from porn. She don't do that.. It's other sites she is going to causing the problem. After cleaning... machine reboots and malwarebytes and Bit Defender load.

PC's running fine but I think I will reload it just be be safe. This is a bit excessive. :)

How do you know she dont do that? People never do. Until they are caught.

More likely it is from bittorrent. I have always suspected that the MPAA and others do this, even tho its illegal, because its so hard to actually catch anyone these days with proxies and such. But of course the way around that is to have the source outside of the US. Probably those very same proxies.

edit: When surfing, one site that always slows my browser to a crawl or for a time locks it up is Amazon.

No she has been my customer for 3+ years now.... not porn kind of stuff. She does shit loads of financial research I'm guessing where she gets them. All I know if she breaks it I fix it. :)
