Replacement of Xfire

My ADM  did a software update and i think with the update it installed raptr,lol so i guess i have that now too.

It's good is Raptr, you can link it with your steam account and record gameplay etc. The best bit is the replay, if you don't want to record the whole session, just set your replay bufer to like 60 seconds, then when you do something awesome, hit ctrl+f2 and it will save the last 60 seconds. It's awesome.

Gam3rGurL, you know that you always have to select the option that you(!) control what you are installing? And not to go "blindly" with "next next next" and  "complete"? You will always install crap on your system and I wonder what your system has installed already. Not to sound to be a dick, but install the following;

 

CCleaner,

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware,

Microsoft Security Essentials,

SUPERAntiSpyware (trial for a month, but cleans the shit up)

And last but not least: Sophos Virus Removal Tool.

 

Run that all and make a restore point first.

Good luck and it is maintenance needed.

After some Sr admin discussion and getting Teamspeak setup, we are going to be using teamspeak as the way to get a hold of an admin if you need them. This is only temporary until there is a suitable replacement program for Xfire, right now there is not but I know companies are working on getting something out to match Xfire. 

 

I will be sending out a PM to the clan discussing how TS will be used.

Team speak channel for all XI admins

 

The seniors have come to a decision with the closure of X fire we have checked out numerous sites but none as yet has filled our expectations

We do however think that as a temporary measure, team speak will fill that gap

We have created a channel in TeamSpeak where just like x fire you can log on When you are available for admin duties

You do not need to mute your mic or turn off your headphones

No one can poke or talk to you in this channel

This stops any messages coming over your screen

You as admins can kick or move and ban from inside this channel

To get the attention of any one in there you must double click the name or right click the name and open chat or you can chat to all in channel

You cannot poke in this channel

You do not have to leave this channel if anyone requires you, its your choice keep it text chat or move to a channel and voice chat

At the moment this channel is called XI lounge

Be aware it’s a social chat channel not an admin channel so anyone can go in no passwords at all

This will be a requirement for all admins to use

If however you want to use TeamSpeak as you did before then do so, you don't need to be in the Lounge channel if your in TS

Do not message people in this channel just for fun, only contact them if you need them for admin duties 

This is purely for contacting game admins like we did on x fire

OK, so we can be in this channel and hear no speaking, correct?  If we are in game how do we know someone is trying to get ahold of us?  Does something pop up in game?  If we are not in game and someone messages us, does it pop up in a separate box, because I can't make heads nor tails of all the gobbldey gook at the bottom of the screen, too much there.....

Just a side note to let everyone know I have now turned off my steam and raptr so you won't be able to contact me there ..just beeb me on TS ..

Just give it a try, we will be adding a new sound shortly that will catch your ear. If you don't have your head phones on then just go check it every now and then.

how do you stop the announcement of people leaving and joining the channel , It's very annoying when in the game..on TS..

Also, if you have the Text To Speech sound pack turned on, you will actually hear who entered your room by name.

 

The name TS announces comes from your "Phonetic Nickname" which can be set on the "Self" menu under "Set Phonetic Nickname."  Everyone should set that up. You may actually have to experiment with differently spelled versions of your name to get it to sound correct, or prevent the word from being spelled instead of pronounced.  So like, "gamer girl" instead of "Gam3rGurL" or "gamergirl" and so on.  Dumb it down, or spell it phonetically till it pronounces it correctly.  It want's to actually spell out Mot (if I enter dee jay mot, it says "dee jay em oh tee",) so I had to tell it "dee jay mawt" which is a close enough rhyme

 

Don't put stuff like XI and ADM in the phonetic name since it just makes it longer to announce and sounds kind of stupid.

 

Even if you do NOT use the text to speech sound pack, you should still set your phonetic name because those who do will hear it even though you don't hear anyone else's.
