Out here a large part of their diet this late in the year is acorns which gives the meat a stronger flavor. Early in the year they eat mostly grass and the meat is better, but we can't hunt them then. Wild boar is the same way when you get them late. It's legal to shoot a doe here in Montana (big population of doe's this year had to stop 5 times going to town this morning) and if your looking for some tender tasty meat a doe is the way to go . . . . .
