So it started as yesterday I was at a friend's party getting drunk of course we started talking about our computers and I was telling him that everything is good on my computer except for my video card which I have 2 at the moment HD Radeon 7870 2 gigs a peace overclocked. I was telling him that they're pretty old and sometimes I have problems with them running some of the newer games on higher settings. So he has some connections with Newegg and sent me a link from Newegg on a video card that was the last one and I am not too sure if I got a good deal or if I paid way too much I feel a paid way too much LOL around $500 what I paid but I've looked it up and this card retails for $600 to $700 comes with a two-year factory warranty thank God and a 30-day money-back guarantee if I don't like it within 30 days I can return it all I have to do is pay return shipping and a restocking fee. The card is in the picture attached would like some feedback please from AMD users.

Sometimes people... such as myself... just dont know. Sounds like a pretty beefy card that will probably handle anything for several years to come. Specs suggest you will also need a monster PSU. TBH you might not find someone here that actually bought one.

Nobody can give you a real answer until you share a few facts...

1. how many monitors are you running

2. what are the sizes of your monitor

3. Is your gaming monitor 60hz or 144hz

4. Power supply info is must

Complete computer specs would be a bonus (CPU, mobo, memory, cooling system)

i just got a XFX r9 390  8gb and it rocks,  plays BF4  and star wars battlefront and any other game i play at max settings.

the price difference between the 8gb vs the 16gb is a lot, and as good as the 8gb card does it seems like a waist to buy the 16gb, unless you got cash burning a hole threw you pocket id go with the 8gb.

i bought the R9 390 8 gig card a few months ago for i think 375.00. Its a great card runs anything on ultra... sounds to me like you got a good deal as long as your motherboard can handle it.

The question really comes down to, do you want to future-proof your rig? if so, this card should last you for a fair number of years. if you don't care about it being good for more than 2 or 3 years, it is mega overkill.

I got the  R7950 Twin Frozer but had it over 2 years now, but i have no problems playing anything on high, i will be looking for something a lot better soon though, well a new PC too before BF5 comes out hopefully.

I am the opposite, i always had trouble with Nvidia drivers, they would never work, would always fuck my graphics up, last time i had Nvidia i had to use a 5 year old driver because none of the new ones worked, AMD is no problem compared to that.

power supply Raidmax 1200 watt 80+gold

OUCH!

AXR9 390 II 16GBD5

Minimum System Power Requirement: 1000W = 83.333Amp per power rail

Math is your friend.

amps = 1000W / 12V = 83.333Amp

Raidmax isn't known for making a good power supply. You will run into trouble. Here's why.You have 4 40amp power rails and that card requires 1 power rail with atleast 83amps Just for the video card + what ever else your running. You WILL run into stability issues and crashing caused by low voltage.Your going to need a VERY GOOD power supply with 1 power rail that is beefy enough to handle that card.

This power supply will handle it but 100amp is cutting it Really close with everything else you have in your PC.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139039

This one is about the best you can get for the money.125amp on a single power rail.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139079

Big mistake people make when buying power supplys is they see the 1200watt and think Heck ya that will work. But in reality a video card will only draw from 1 power rail and overload it very quickly and cause Major stability issues and possibly burn up the power supply.

Another thing to consider is that the single GPU 290x and 390 run pretty hot with 3 fans.Could you imagine running 2 GPU cores + 12gb of memory on 3 small fans? They must throttle the shit out of that card to keep it from burning it's self up.They had to water cool the R9 295 X2 and it only had 1/2 the memory and power requirements were 56amps.
