Well the rest of what you have is somewhat ok If those are the parts you want, but you would not catch me using that power supply. Your power supply is called the #1 investment under the hood of the rig. And If you don't purchase at least a 80+ bronze certified, your playing with fire. AKA you can end up toasting your whole system with a flawed factory second non certified psu.  Plus this hunk of junk has a terribly low output to boot. Do yourself a favor and at least get something a little trustworthy.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817153281

Why the 6100? Is it a cost thing? Because I'd opt for the 6400 if you are able to stretch to it. It offers more longevity, and better long term performance.

As for Windows 10, you can pick that up for like $20 on kinguin.

yeah, it was pretty much just trying to not get too silly with the price on a toy, but after watching a few comparisons on youtube i have to agree on the I5-6400 in terms of the extra cores and longevity for only $60, good call and thanks. The windows 10, id just as soon have a hard copy

Truly,a stock cpu cooler will be fine for him until he builds his money back up. I'm not sure If the one your getting will still come with one.

I'd say the H45. It is arguably the best value for money in terms of a cooler. Gives the same performance as a H80i, but is half the cost.

Actually damage has a good point. You could save on the mobo because of the lack of overclocking

Invest in a quality power supply. It could mean the difference in a stable computer or random crashes. I recommend an 80 PLUS bronze certified PSU.

Also, in my humble opinion you should stop sipping on penis coladas they render you AFK while playing.

One good thought on whether or not to get that water cooler is where the PC will be. If noise is an issue... like it is for me... then a loud cpu air cooler can be annoying as hell.  I dont know if its standard but also look for on the gpu whether or not the fans will only turn on above a certain temp. They certainly will for gaming but if you are just web browsing there is no need for a gpu fan to be on. I agree get a high efficiency rating psu. You will make up the difference in energy savings. Especially if you live in an area with high energy costs and outrageous pricing tiers.

If you wait a few more months for all the new products to come out then you could get some of the old  higher end products a lot cheaper than they are right now.

The fatality mobo might give you problems. You are only paying for his name. The board itself is just standard low end. Just like his graphics card back a few years. A lot of complaints over that. If you do not know who fatality is, he is a pro gamer who received a lot of money for his wins and then had his name put on some pc parts. People bought these parts because of his name and were disappointed afterwards.

Windows 10 is garbage. So much spyware involved in it and more since the update. I would stick with windows 7. A lot of businesses and people are going back to it. A lot of bad reviews on w10.

Also if you let everyone know your budget i'm pretty sure you will get some interesting suggestion on gaming rig parts.

Yup win7. Support will end in a few years and win10 will be no choice but by then might be more ways out there, by third parties, to shut off everything.

I've had pretty good luck with the corsair power supplies.   i've bought...about 20 of em...none failed (unless struck by lightening).  ASRock is ok, but i also like gigabyte mb's and noticed at least one for a similar price.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128840&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&PageSize=10&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&IsFeedbackTab=true#scrollFullInfo

I'm using a cx600 corsair...cheap basic but reliable; there is also a cheap 600w evga that has good reviews.  I like the processor (but get an i5 if you can afford it).

If you want a cheap/free idea for win7, send me a message.  That ssd really can make a difference.

I have a similar build but with an older i7 2600, ati sapphire 380 4gb, HAF 912 coolermaster case, 8gb ddr3 gskill ram and 240gb ssd, 1tb storage, 600w cx600 psu and a asus P8B75-M/CSM

motherboard.

OK, so noise isnt an issue, i have a room in a finished basement that i play in and use headphones, so i think im going to go with theThermal take 500 w, which is 80+ bronze certified. I can get the MSI H110M LGA 1151 for $70, so that drops the over all mobo price $50, and seems to have decent reviews and enough for what i need.I coould put the savings to the 960, but i think ill be fine with the 950. I appreciate all the help and suggestion,,,(except for boom's request to stop sipping penis coladas,,you wont stop and shouldnt expect others too)You guys are awesome

I have the gigabyte board. Or a model similar to it. After a few months no problems so far. Tho it did take some finessing in the bios to get it to fully work right with the ssd natively.

Since this is the component that ties everything together and will be there for several years, if its meant to be around for awhile, it is recommended to get something that will last and ready for future upgrades. I would look at a full atx board not a micro to allow for future expansion.

I would recommend the 960 over the 950 if you plan to watch 4k or anything encoded in h265 since it handles the decoding in hardware. Which pretty much everything is moving to.

Purchasing a gigabyte motherboard is always a good investment most the time due to the fact that they operate like a solid state technology. Their drivers may not be the newest in the world but they always work. For a first-timer you will find in the Bios settings to be very easy to use.
