I am about to buy a new 2017 3.5lt Honda Accord but I'm having a hard time chosing between the 4 door touring  sedan, auto and the 2 door 6 speed manual coupe.  Honda does not offer a manual transmission on the 4 door model, which kinda sucks for a guy who does not like driving auto.

I'm  wondering if anyone could tell me if  there is a real "noticeable"  difference between the manual and auto trannies.

Thank you

Joe

Hey Matt

My wife has the anniversary limited edition 2009 Honda Accord that's a four door but manual. I have always asked her if she wants to sell and replace it  and she says no. It's 270hp, V6 and that car does go like hell.

I myself don't care. I drive a 2015 loaded CRV and it's auto. I can only tell you it's your preference in the end. If you have room and space to drive like a bat out of hell, go for manual but downtown Van maybe another story.

being a tech the trend for the manufactures to use a CVT style transmission for better fuel mileage is the biggest threat to the consumer. The design is to slip to achieve better fuel mileage and they fail at an alarming rate. This is something to consider on any new vehicle purchase. The manufacturer builds in a one time replacement cost under warranty in the price of the car witch is fine, but if you plan on keeping it past warranty there are other options like a manual trans, 8 and 9 speed automatics, and the new but upcoming dual clutch versions. So be cvt transmission savy and decide before you but any car if you plan on keeping this vehicle after warranty runs out. They only build them to make it out of warranty anymore no matter whose badge is on the front.

^ As they said, if you want the manual, get the manual.

Look at the Chevy Cruze. 4 door, 6 speed manual and great gas mileage. Plus a manual trans. is better in the winter.

2 door 6 speed. The only way your car can keep up with mine. Honda's are fun to drive in a stick. Either way a great car.

Your wife definitely has better taste than you Ter....but hey! don't feel bad, you can still redeem yourself by trading that Honda crv for something more suitable like a green, flower power, 2017 Prius vagina. Let me know if you do.  I will send you a pair of matching hippie Chinese  sandals haha jk.

My wife actually just bought a Honda crv, 1.5 turbo. I'm not sure if its an AWD but that car  is more than enough for her in my opinion. I will get my car on Saturday. I'm in no rush...that tends to lower the price :-)
