Hey guys,

In the last couple weeks, I am suddenly starting to experience mouse lag/delay.  It does not seem to happen all the time.  When I load up COD4 everything is fine.  The cursor follows as I move the mouse.  As soon as the map finishes loading, boom...slight mouse delay...almost like a swaying motion.  I have not changed any hardware or software (unless my kids installed some malware....punks).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My Logitech G500 mouse has been doing similar crap the last couple weeks and my Ping is about 20 higher than it normally is. Might be server Host related? Or possibly that damn Windows 10 Creators update I got the other week?

Thought it was my polling rate but no change when I set it anywhere between 250 and 1000. FPS isn't affected still holds 250 solid.

check drivers may be out of date as for that creators win 10 update all it was for was to add more spyware so they track your every click of the mouse i have a g500s it will do that when drivers are old

It would be helpful if you mentioned the mouse model.... detals are key for troubleshooting.

If it is WIreless, try a Wired mouse and see if the issue still exists.

Sounds like an IO issue, your disk has loaded the map files in RAM and there might be some buffered file data that your drive is finishing up reading. Mouse or Keyboard lag can happen if your processor is pegged. Do you have a really large video file, say 27GB, try loading that in your video player and see if you experience similar behavior.

So the currently suggested possibilities are:

  • USB Port
  • Server Host
  • Windows 10 Update
  • Out of date drivers
  • Spyware
  • Wireless
  • Disk
  • RAM
  • Processor

lol

Did some digging and found that the fucking Windows 10 Creators update causes input problems on certain AMD chipset configurations. Mine was one of those affected by this. Only way around it is to go back to the previous version of windows AND Quickly disable windows update or it will put the fucking thing back in about an hour after you roll it back.

Yep I rolled mine back and it was working really good for about an hour then the cock sucker decided to reinstall it again while I was watching a "movie". Went and grabbed some food and came back and it was restarting all by it's self.

Fucking POS is pissing me off. Going to roll it back AGAIN and disable the NIC untill I can get in and disable the damn thing in the registry and gpedit. Wish me luck see ya in a couple hours.

Here is directions on how to disable windows fucking update in win 10.

Well....thanks for all the input guys.  I should have had more details.  G300 wired mouse.  Garbage windows 10.  I would love to go back to XP.  What puzzles me is that it doesn't happen consistently.  I will have to check out rolling my windows back.  Trying a new usb port is pretty simple too.
