Go to Lake Erie and try for smallies  in that lake I say this cause I see you live on the other side of the lake lake,we use to fish them untill early November and all you need is a white twister tail and a jig,you will blow your mind we never ate them just catch and release,it was nothing to catch 50 or more an outing at least on our side of the lake.If your boat can make it across the lake and you find Colchester Harbour that is the place to just start drifting and just 1/4 to half mile off shore .

Hey Johnny;

Im familiar with Colchester reef and other areas on the Canadian side for smallmouth fishing. We quit going over after the license and pass port issues became a pain. There's a lot of great bass fishing in both Ohio and Michigan so we stay there now. I also bass fish on Saginaw bay on Lake Huron. All of it's catch and release. Now walleye and perch, maybe not catch and release. We love them on the table. Last week, we perch fished near Monroe Michigan and got our limit of 100. The catch weighed 30 lb. They were nice sized perch.

Yeah Burt, since they went nuts with the licenses and passports it has been nuts,I've been stopped by one of your choppers over there on the Detroit River and lake St.Clair warning me to stay over on the Canadian side of the lake or river,as if I can see the boundary on the water.Next thing you know they'll want us to identify if the fish was a Canadian Walleye or was it a US Walleye.Haha.Good luck and keep on fishing.

Nice One!  I attended the Bassmaster event on Lake Mille lacs, the worlds best bass lake.it was fun to see how the pros do it, and make money..... so far your catch is better than Ive got this year, I see a drop shot rig there...?   Ill be Bass and walleye fishing till ice up here, so hope to post a few slabs in that 4lb range like yours, good job.

this photo i posted is the AOY winner on mille lacs, those bass boats are not deep enough for big water and wind...

Good Eye! Yes I was using a dropshot rig. The bait was a Yamamtoto Shad Shape. Ive got a Ranger 621 that stands up pretty well to rough water.
