It's been a problem for a long time, retards think they're funny by teamflashing, therefore causing their teams to lose the match. Many times it's difficult to spot 'em and they keep ruining the game for everyone. I've seen around some mods that display a player's name whenever they throw a flashbang. I think it's a good idea to add it to the XI servers.

I know where your coming from. Occasionally there is always 1 troll that decides to flashbang his teammates and can be hard to tell who through it as you are blinded. I have banned a few people in the past for the same reasons as they were constantly doing it on purpose.

Was this happening to you last night or is it just something you have seen happening regularly?

Regards to a flashbang plugin to display a players name, I haven't seen one going around. I mean I could perhaps try out coding a quick plugin that would display a players name if they triggered a flashbang but I don't know I think it would clutter up the chatbox

Sadly, it's a regular thing.

I don't know much of coding but I've seen this kind of plugin in the MAGA servers. (dunno how it works tho :P)

I don't know what your issue is, we encourage flashing on the COD4 servers.

I believe Maga has a flash bang plugin. It detects flashes thrown around spawn.

Indeed.  Pops the players name up in chat, but only around the spawn AFAIK

That plugin has its issues too , it doesn't always register players that throw flashbangs

Which is one of the main reasons I am not putting it on XI servers.

The servers are running at a bare minimum amount of plugins for performance reasons. More plugins = more crashes/performance issues

We were expecting Sandstorm release this week too so I tried to get Insurgency servers finished and out of the way for Sandstorm so there would be no more work needed to be done

Now Sandstorm is delayed till December but anyhow :lol:

I am sorry for performing a necromancy on this tread.

But I was wondering if NWI since then has been putting up a update to adress the flash bomb abuse. 

I think that NWI itself has to code such an alert into their own games. Not sure if they wanted to...

I agree with alphanoob. It's been 2 years since this topic has been started and it has been even longer that this problem has been around. Would love to see some changes in regard to this. :)
