Spend most of my day opening envelopes & cutting boxes at work. Don't care for the safety boxcutters, so I carry pocket knives. Here's a little sweetie picked up from ebay. Love Texas toothpicks, medium is the best carry size, but this cute little Damascus blade Bear & Son is fun. Plus, it has that magical USA stamp.

Very nice....love Damascus steel....that's a nice one to carry. I have a pretty good knife collection....and by collection I mean knives I can use not look at. I just picked up this knife sharpener and it puts an incredible edge on them.

Nice, I've been watching forged in fire and until then didn't appreciate the work and skill that went into some blades, nor the cost of them.

I agree, that knife stays on my desk for opening letters. Bone handle toothpick is my daily carry during mailing & printing. Knife on the top was a freebie from the NRA, and it got used as screwdriver, wedge, chisel, and general abuse tool. My old Buck 110 was my daily carry when I farmed, but it's a bit clumsy for the mailing department. Sent it back to Buck when the spring got too loose, and they rebladed it during their 50th anniversary. Red handle Bear is my walkabout carry knife, too pretty to abuse @ work, but I enjoy having it on me.

Purchased this Case slimline trapper @ our local hardware store. Delrin handles (scales) and stainless blade. This sweetie is perfect for daily use,  and I swap it back & forth with my bone handle toothpick. I'm going to order a bone handle Case w/nickel bolsters as a swap out for my red handle Bear. I really like this knife, and it's a pleasure to work with.

OK, I gotta quit doing this, but it's kinda fun. A little present to myself for surviving the grueling mail schedule for quarter.

Well after agreeing with everyone that forged in fire was great I just watched it's spin off series 'knife and death', what a load of rubbish, turned it off after ten minutes, can only take so much crap, wish they'd do a new series of top shot.

I also collect knives, although not a seriously as others. As a kid I had many "gas station specials", nothing worth keeping besides a Buck folder that as  the only decent one. But recently, I started getting interested in blade steel and stuff. Of course I stumbled on some Cold Steel videos and reviews. I love the large folders.

Here are the three knives I recently bought:

Top: Cold Steel Voyage XL with 5.5 inches Tanto blade in AUS 10a Japanese steel ($79 CDN)

Mid: Cold Steel Voyager 'Large" with 4 inches Clip point blade in AUS 10a. ($65 CDN)

Bottom: Ontario Knife Company (OKC) Rat II in D2 Tool steel. ($60 CDN)

Not very expensive knives when bough on sale, but not cheap either. The OKC is an EDC blade. The big Tanto is a bragging right-type knife...I wonder if those may increase in value over a long period. The CS Voyager Large is very comfortable and grippy. I recommend that size.

For people that can go beyond the Cold Steel crazy videos and appreciate the stuff for what it is, the TRI-AD lock is definitively a winner... the XL can stand over 450 pounds of weight on the handle without coming undone...so its fairly strong!
