What make ye, of this image?

(Taken with Samsung S7 Edge, last year)imageproxy.php?img=&key=42ce854d8954cc13

image.thumb.png.a06c46f71ba49e753109dab9eea936cf.png

The "tri-square," in yellow, is one-foot long at the top, and there's a can of Krylon white spray-paint I used to contour the footprint.

My Dad, one year ago, said he woke up about 3:00 a.m. here in Alaska to the feeling of being watched, by something.  He then heard "Whoomp . . ., whoomp, . . . ,, whoomp . . .," like the sound of something big and heavy walking slowly,  just outside his bedroom window.

The "whoomp, whoomp, whoomp" sounds slowly faded.

It was mid-April, here in Alaska, and the ground was still frozen.  He woke me up at 8:00 a.m. to tell me what he heard.  I grabbed my semi-auto Remington, with a 10-round clip of 180-grain .30-06 shells, "jacked a shell in the chamber," put it on safety, and went outside to look.

I walked slowly around his house, and this footprint immediately jumped out at me.

Immediately jumped out.

Look at the periphery; the edges in the frozen ground are cleanly-cut, not smashed, as they would be if the ground were not frozen.

This will be mentioned in my book, as perhaps a prologue.

Thanks to @T-Rat, who planted the seed, my inspiration is "cast in stone," or "set in concrete."

Or, maybe try to reverse those two, @TBB.  Lol.

Look again, and zoom in, as you probably will.

While my cousin, James and I, were camped out in a pouring rain about 35 - 40 miles north of Koliganek, Alaska, last July, in a pouring-frickin' rainstorm, we heard some very loud "whoomps, whooomps, whoomps" around our tent.

Him and I both popped up outta our sleeping bags after the second "whoomp."

I said, "James, talk really loud about how your day has been," as I jacked a 180-grain Remington shell into my semi-auto .06.

When camping in bear country, my beloved gun sleeps next to me, and my Ruger 44-caliber magnum pistol is within "lunging distance."

The frickin' whoomping sound circumvented our tent; I had a shell in the chamber (gun on safety), as I pointed the barrel towards where I thought the vital kill-shots might be on something you couldn't see..  I asked James, loudly, to describe what kinda day he had.

I couldn't be a durned fool and start blasting through our vulnerable nylon tent.

I distinctly thought about the "whoomping" noises about "something big, and something heavy" that Dad described to me a couple of months earlier.

This, too, shall be recounted in my book.

In the meantime, take another look at that picture.

And, I saw one through my Leopold Golden Ring II scope, at Harris Creek, 40 miles north of Koliganek.

And, I saw reflecting eyes looking at us after I fired a warning shot at the first one.

If I tried to shoot the first one, this post, kind sirs and madams, would not have happened.

monsters do exist but nearly all are human mate,  or inhuman should i say,

you say you saw the eyes through the scope??? what about the rest of it??? what was it like....... if you had camera to photograph the footprint why not photograph the animal itself???

Bigfoot is an old legend,  a fairy story from ancient times, and it doesn't matter how many crap programmes showing bad footage of a man running around in a bear suit will convince me otherwise,  to me its like the Lochness monster over here,

a simple publicity stunt to attract holidaymakers and enthuse nutters :) people under stressful circumstances perceive odd things sometimes, the fact you picked up and loaded your gun tells me you were under stress,  the brain will attempt to make sense of something it cant quite make out, and bigfoot must have be in your mind, an old tv programmes, things you have seen online, it all adds up mate,  possibly just a bear checking you out mate just a bear.......the so called footpint could be anything frankly :)  i'm not having a go, simply trying to rationalise your perception no offence :) maybe next time you could photograph the animal, proof is paramount buddy....

He's not a candidate for membership, is he (she)?

Read my as-yet-unpublished book.

Ayaq (third-person context again, lol.) tells no lies, nor casts dispersions of such.

Read your post twice, probably one-too-many-times, @cdsinuk.

unpublished??? :)  i think Ayaq just from a quick search ive found 625 sasquatch books, im sure there are thousands, they are nearly all the same, lots of opinion, bucket loads of speculation and no evidence?  which is more or less what you have said in your book,

i think if you are going to publish,  my rather timid attempt to query your writing is nothing compared to what you will get in the cut and slash world of publishing, and the critics that come along with it,

throw insults if you like, but prepare yourself for far far worse than i would say in polite company.

Timmah i'm surprised at your comment !  its little green men not big fluffy bunnys that do the crop circles,  i was watching from my flyingsaucer.... i saw them do it, i loaded my six grain bun firing machine and through the gold ring of my bunsight i took aim, i fired a warning bun,  but if i had fired right at it  i would have started a bun fight and this post wouldn't have happend......

its an insult to little green men man ! you should be ashamed lol :)

Well, since I went all the way to Loch Ness, kids and hubby in tow, so I could spend time trying to find Nessie myself, AND I watch Ancient Aliens and seem to believe all the theories and ideas presented, I feel like I am a good candidate to analyze the photo.  IMHO, the spray paint destroyed the evidence, sorry to say.  :detective:  NEXT time, take a photo of whatever it is unembellished, then a photo with say a ruler (or yardstick?), bag up and evidence like hair and/or poop eww, but don't paint over it.  2 cents    Meanwhile, imho mysteries are what flame humans interest and get us off the cave/couch and exploring so yahoo, keep it up!  :clapping:

Ya, because in this day and age with everybody and their brother with a smart phone, no definitive photographic or genetic evidence has been produced...Hair sample on a tree...like I find when I go deer hunting, no bones, no expired squatch;  but it's all fun, just let me know if you REALLY believe.

Hey, thanks for the frickin' encouragement!!

Lol.

I've been messing around too long, breaking too many hearts, which is the last thing I told myself I would do--again.

I was a basketball star in college, wrestler and Capt. of the X-Country running team in high school:  need I continue?  You don't need to look for women--they come looking for you.  Or me, with my rugged good-looks and inescapable charm.

Lol.  Have at it, guys, my loving brothers of the Strapping Gents(?) of >XI<.

What I'm trying to say, Duke CDS-INK, Count-of-Doubts-A-Lot, is that no one writes like Ayaq (i.e., "me").

Lol.

I'm like an artist, painting pictures with my stories.

By the way, the "book" that I've written, to coin your term, is only ONE PAGE.

So far.

Search for some of the "articles" I've written for the ">XI< Weekly Enquirer."

LMAO.

I like being challenged.  I just started again tonight, one PAGE TWO.

Lol, still as-of-yet.

I've been thinking--working, that is, so I tell myself--about how to structure my actual book; what I submitted were just thoughts typed down to capture some high-lights.

Hey, I'm wasting precious typing and "painting time" responding to this response.

Wish me luck, you well-wishers.  I know there's a few of you out there!!

Ayaq

You back on the blubber ????

Good luck, combine last years hunting trip with this one and you are on the road to XI stardom. Now I might be the only one that understands you ( especially after a few sherberts ) but there is hope. I sense beneath that rambling lunacy a great talent lurks, waiting to pounce on the XI readers ( a worldwide audience ).

So my friend let me offer my services as your proof reader, that way others may understand the warped genius confined within the arctic circle, unable to escape it's icy grip. The brain frozen in time, body wracked with cold and only two days bear meat supply remaining, it is tough in the upper 49th.

I am sure we could forget this months server donations and divert them to an airdrop or husky team with new supplies. The boss may be a bit tricky due to being killed a lot lately, but leave it to the xi ladies, they'll win him over.

These supplies should keep you going as you've been a bit quiet lately? I miss translating your prose to English when I awake after a refreshing two hours sleep. Perhaps we could combine our talents (do I hear groans?) a bit like Elton John and Bernie Taupin, continents apart but united in their art. By the way a bad example, don't get too many ideas in your lonely arctic home, that's definitely a non starter.

We could each write a chapter and I will translate Alaskan into English free of charge for the other members.

Hehehhehhehehehahhehahehehehehehaehhaea!!

Touche (with the apostrophe above the "e"), mon friar (lol, auto-correct chose "fraire" to "friar."  Oh well.), good one, bud.

In less-than-two-hours time, I have re-arranged my previous submittal to the following (bear in mind that this is a work-in-progress):

image.thumb.png.b342877ccfad0fba3c9ac13243a52a03.png

image.thumb.png.5e1c74c903e81dc604b6aa354c112772.png

Like I said, bud, work-in-progress.

Love you as much as a "straight guy" can love ya, Brudda.

Lol.

Hey, bud, you'll be first on my list, along with a few others (yeah, you too, @TBB and @bds1961 and @etc., yadda-yadda, et al., and enough already!).

Lol.  The "cart-before-the-horse" kinda thing.

In less than two hours, I was able to restructure and rewrite the diatribe--I mean, "story"--so it makes a more logical, sequential order.

Like I said, the first draft was only a congealing (congelation?  conglomeration?  copulation?) of memories that I had to jot down, lest I forget.

I've already spotted two errors in my scan (above).

Like I said, "work-in-progress."

The important thing is that I march forward.  I've always been a fan of "Patrick McManus."

They Shoot Canoes, Don't They? , anyone?

Did you notice the author's name?

Hmm?

Lol.

OK first real proof reading :=

1/. You seem to have an  interest in the river, it figures in every sentence, include a map I'm confused

2/. You have an unholy obsession in 'hitting the bottom', presume you're not sharing tents with your cousin Phil/James? if you are I thought you said you were straight?? you also say 'hard' which makes me wonder?

3/. What guns do you have, last year you had an arsenal? I picture you now wrestling grizzlies, you'll need a gun

4/. How you gonna get the gold, panning?detector? or just buy some when you come back?

Keep going
