"Apparently" someone somewhere has been informed of the problem. Does that mean it will be resolved for us to be able to play COD4 multiplayer again? Right click on the game and select Properties. In the (Updates tab), Make sure that "Always keep this game Up to Date" is turned on. Then go to the (Local Files) tab and click Verify Integrity Of Game Files. Once that is done restart your PC and restart Steam. If it is going to patch COD4 it should start auto patching as soon as steam is loaded up. Hope that works. Some slacky on their end did not know that there was a version 1.7 and only saw it up to version 1.6.
