It’s not usually 51% want to skip and 49% want to play @Sammy, it’s usually 50% want to skip, 40% don’t care one  way or the other and 10% want to play it so we aren’t losing 49% of the players.

As far as hopping, take it out if you want, I don’t play here because I love hopping, I hop because I love playing here and that’s the playing style.  I’ll bet if you took the hopping out, you would get less bitching from the hoppers than you do from the 10% of map whiners.

By the way, I’m more of a Dolphin Diver than a hopper but “when in Rome”...

Its still the same thing. To keep that 1/2 in the server... assuming they werent leaving anyways... the 1/2 that remained to play that map are not a consideration. Their choice is voided. It is an understandable catch-22 but it still comes down to 'why' some leave with some supporting numbers. Maybe they are done with games. Maybe they are done with freezetag and going to a standard TDM game. If however its because a certain map is too long that can be easily dealt with. But if its because it doesnt conform to their insisted 24/7 style of play then too bad.

Usually, they make a comment about not liking the map before they leave.  If several do, and then more than one member asks to skip, it's time to call a vote for the majority to decide.

In my humble opinion skipping maps is wrong purely because the choice of map then becomes someones personal preference, regardless of how many voted. If you don't like it leave, don't throw your dummy out of the pram until you get your own way. The reason most people don't vote may just be that they are happy to continue. You will never please everyone so why try? To me as long as there is a good mix of map types there should be no cause for complaint.  FU is probably the way to go when someone wants to skip, we have lots of servers, try them you might like them?

I do notice that a lot of people stick to one format and never play anything else, fair enough, but I'm sure they'd enjoy other servers. There is a certain Norwegian lady who plays them all, and as far as I can tell enjoys them all. Just because she is good at one doesn't stop her trying others, a great pity more don't do that.

I do notice that, quite naturally, the people who only play one format become quite possessive and forget it is not only for them

So skipping maps _ FU

problem is if like half leave then ur playing like 3 vs 3 instead of 8 vs 8  and all honesty low number then cause other to leave.

everyone's ability and skill differ from map to map. a map that a lot of people hate = a map that a lot of people love, why? because they do much better on it. so why take a map away and the chance for someone else to finally do good on a map? robin williams said it like this: " you can fool some of the people some of the time & jerk the rest off "!           my opinion!

Just had a typical example this afternoon, new map comes on, moderator asks if we want to go to spec cos he doesn't like it, some of us stay (no vote called) but map skipped anyway, seems the policy is 'no policy' but the one who controls it their personal preference, I left anyway can't be bothered with that shit!
