Another good addon for firefox is ghostery. What adblock plus misses ghostery does not.

What is probably happening is when you restart your pc the malware starts again because it has an executable file that keeps re executing itself when you turn your pc on.  It is very annoying.

I used to run malware program and manually remove the executable file. It is always found in system 32 file. When you run the malware program look for anything that is located in system 32 and manually delete them all.

That did not work for me so i Googled it and found a video and this is the way i restarted in "Safe Mode". of course to restart normally you have to go and uncheck the "safe boot" box in picture 3 or it just starts in safe mode again lol, i think the problem was from something called pop opinion or something like that, i went into "program files 86" and looked at the dates stuff was downloaded i uninstalled what i could but this pop opinion thing would not budge and it also showed up on my taskbar under the "show hidden icons tab"  after i restarted in safe mode the superantispyware program told me this program was a popup adware program (which i guessed that what the problem was anyway) and it needed to be removed, cut a long story short it looks like it has gone, i can't find it anywhere but i still see Yahoo in my programs (picture 4) and it still won't let me uninstall the bloody thing but it probably (hopefully) is not causing a problem because in picture 4 again it says it has no size ie taking no memory or no version number so i am hoping it is only there in name but still don't know why i can't uninstall it.....so hopefully it is fixed so if that is the case thanks to everyone for their time trying to help me...if not stay tuned, anyway i am keeping Firefox uninstalled for the time being, i found how to add more bookmarks into Google Chrome anyway which because i couldn't do that before, made me use Firefox in the first place.

I think Microsoft would make a fortune if they produced a simple, stable platform without all the whistles and bells they seem to assume we need. Keeps lots of people in work I presume, but look how complicated it was to start in safe mode, oh for the good old days of dos :stuart:

I have used firefox since it came out and have never had anything happen like that. The only thing that I didn't like was when firefox stopped supporting java. I had to use the browser pale moon for that.

I have gone through what you just went through when I download programs off sites  that were not the home sites. Googling the program I want and clicking on the 1st site on the list. Now I look for the home site of what I want.

Did you download firefox from the mozilla website?

That search the web looks like it came from a something you downloaded and it installed when you installed the program you downloaded.

I do not know if w10 supports it but ccleaner will delete that link.

I have had Firefox installed for over a year,  the only thing i can think of was the adblocker when i put adblock plus on the other day another one came on with it called pop up blocker or something like that and that's what was causing the problems but if you Google it you will see that this is getting to be a common problem with Firefox being taken over by Yahoo, look at link below.

I hate yahoo so much I rid my firefox of its extension in search along with the rest. You can't delete them all so I just saved google. I do not use google either. I use startpage.com as my search engine.

nope all i use is windows defender and run superantispyware and malwarebites once a month

Guess people don't remember that superantispyware (AOL Online bundled antispyware) used to be one of the biggest "malware infested" programs out there. This malware is ranging from Ransomware, to Trojans, to various adware bundles.   The Bundles were really really bad and very hard to get rid of.  It would automatically download and install all kinds of shit infested addons and toolbars on your computer without your permission.

I don't give a flying shit if they went legit or not. I will NEVER trust that one.

It's not Yahoo, it is a Malware program forcing Yahoo as your main browser, and if you look at the link in my post above this you will see plenty of people are having problems with this.
