Not far past the full moon, a few hours of unique happiness; I've commented on this in times past, and to my surprise, more than a few can't relate; so here is an short elucidation:

I remember many nights like that when my dad, mom would take us all camping. I used to go down by the water around midnight just to get peace and quiet. Listening to all the bugs, birds and water was so relaxing and put your mind at ease. I used to love watching all the fireflies glow up. Never fished at night always through the day. Nothing like fresh fish cooked over a fire yum yum yummie!!!

Nice. About 10 pounds is as large as I like to keep for eating; usually channel cat.  I've caught Flatheads in the 50-60 lb. range; being predators, live bluegill is the bait of choice...liking to smoke weed and chill, while catching some good eats, I usually opt for catfishing. =)  The lightning bugs are still out, but my camera (Kodak zi8)  doesn't pick them up so well. Good luck with the fishing!

I see the mic didn't pick up the tree frogs so well; the crickets in the foreground & the katydids in the background are making a fine chorus, though.  =)

For Channel catfish, I use bluegill fillet; for Flatheads, I use live bluegill hooked below the dorsal fin. There's times where I'm out there in the middle of the night, lose myself to the surroundings & come back to find hours have passed in what seemed minutes.
