The windows 7 route of upgrading is ok if that is all you can do, however, there is a great benefit to doing a clean install of Win 10 with a valid key as win 7 does not support UEFI and you will be stuck in legacy. I have been getting 100% legit Win 10 pro keys off of ebay for about $3 a pop for some time now. It is well worth the money for the performance you get from UEFI especially if you are using an SSD. The only real advantage to maintaining Win 7 would be because of familiarity as you are actually at a loss performance wise.

Why did you want it to dual boot anyways? Just curious.

In the early 90s I set up a PC that started in dos. Then I ran everything from .bat files. So i would push 1 for windows, 2 for Doom, 3, 4 ,5 to connect to specific BBS's (bulletin board systems) and play games or chat.

yea thats what i did for one system i had to upgrade from XP to 10, the key cost me like 5euros or less.

on my system, i just wanted to upgrade from 7 to 10, so i did a clone and tried to upgrade, but didnt worked.
so i had to make a clean install, but as i did try to upgrade, i got a valid key, no need to pay nothing.

so i can keep my old win 7 system as it is coz i got lot of stuffs on there that i dont wanna loose, some are softwares i lost the installer.

the system was not running great, so i wanted to try win 10 to see if it would run better.

now i know it does run better, not awesome, but decent for a 7+ years old system.

Its not a matter of the video card being compatible with Windows 10 , its the version of Windows 10 that is giving you a hard time. What you need to do is update Windows 10 to at least version 1703 then your video card will be seen and you can install the driver.
