well i start the game, its taking a long time, and the game resolution change to random (it almost always a different one) smaller than it should resolution.

So i change it back to 1900/1200 and sometimes it works, sometimes i get black screen.

ctrl alt del, task manager and i see like 10 different cod4 app running.

i have no idea wtf is going on, maybe its just a driver problem ?

my screen native resolution is 1920 / 1200

GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

Driver 419.35

Maybe a corrupted profile? Do you have a backup?

Crash the game and the Safe Mode pops up? Start the Safe mode and switch it around.

Mine is read only for the config, cfg file. Try to edit that

I believe that was in COD(UO), COD2 and.. WAW. The more frustration is, getting your key-binds back. Or worse, everytime you start it up, it asks you again and you ignore it. And for 90% of the times, no problemo.

Did the game not read your new profile or it just didn't fix the problem?

last time i had those kind of problems i tried to use my backups

but from what i can remember i couldn't play at all, i think it was the exact same problem.

that was a few months ago.

i had to delete all my profiles, create a new one and then it worked almost fine untill yesterday.

this is so weird, yes i believe something is messing with my profiles.

but why is the problem back after i use a complete new one ? no idea.

i have no problems at all in other games, so i dont think its my card

It sounds like a video driver issue.

Go to nvidia site and download the new 431.6 driver.

This is your driver: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/148863/en-us

I tend to agree with Angelz, probably wouldn't be a bad idea to update your driver seeing as though 5 security issues have been patched in the newest Nvidia drivers. If you decide to update your driver and you still have problems after the update, using the "Display Driver Uninstaller" will clean out everything and start fresh. I have tested this on multiple Windows 10 and Windows 7 installs without issue.

ok thank you all and thank you Angelz, i think it works now.

will test it a bit more.

i also changed the cable, it was plugged on dvi, i switched it to hdmi, and noticed my colors were better. Lately my colors were also really weird.

i then had to change my monitor settings to standard and made a few changes, but since i switched on hdmi i can use sRGB again.

then the new driver may have fixed my cod4 problems, we'll see in the next few weeks how it goes

Also, I noticed that Windows 10 (or even 7) does not come with DirectX(updates). Download this one from MS and see if all of you need to download some MB's. When using the program, un-check "Bling" and let it grab updates for you.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

Edit: For example the benchmark tool 3DMark06, that comes with MS Visual and som eparts of DirectX. You will notice that all with a fresh Windows 7/10 installation. 3DMark needs that for the video benchmark, so that is not for nothing.

ok will do that.

that new driver did something, i mean it was working fine for a day.

now it crash the game to desktop with no error message at all,

so i lower the resolution to  like 1600/800 or somethnig, and that seems to work.

so yea will do a custom fresh install / directX and all that jazz.

maybe another problem (or not) but when i try to shut off the computer, it gets stuck, unless i shut off steam first.
