A couple nights ago Windows 10 updated and I lost all of my COD World at War progress. The game is still installed, but it reset back to the beginning. I tried to do a restore, but it only had one for the same day. Also noticed that it reset the majority of my file programs to "installed on 8/8/2019." Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Did you by any chance have your documents set to save on another drive? I have my pictures, docs, music etc set to save on my D drive instead of my C. One time, Windows updated and changed the paths back to the C drive.

Windows 10 will some times change any customized settings back to default after a cumulative update. Check and make sure that your file locations have not changed as it seems as though the game is no longer seeing your profile. User Account control setting changes will also do this. Keep in mind that if Windows update changed any setting back to default, uninstalling the update will not change this, you'll have to change them back manually.

I save all personal files to a separate drive and physical disc. I also don't used the standard windows user folders like documents.  I create my own on the separate drive to keep completely separate from Windows.  Obviously some things like cod profiles you can't get around so it's important to backup regularly.

Sorry, nothing useful for your current situation but food for thought as you go forward.  Good luck.

You might have got the Re-Release of the 1903 feature pack that they started rolling out July 23rd. They had it out for about a month then took it down after finding several buggs and recently re-released it with several bug fixes.  If so, your pretty much shit out of luck.

Download the Windows 10 installation media to a separate external storage device that hasat least 8GB of available space. Everything on this drive will be deleted to complete the download, so make sure it’s empty before you proceed. Here's how:

  1. On a working PC, go to the Microsoft software download website and select Download tool now
  2. When the download is complete, open the tool from your desktop, and then select Yeswhen asked if you’d like to allow the app to make changes to your device.
  3. When the Windows 10 Setup guide appears, accept the license terms and agreements.
  4. Select Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC, and then select Next.
  5. Choose a language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit), and then select Next.
  6. Select USB flash drive, and then select Next.
  7. Follow the steps to create installation media, and then select Finish.
  8.

Used to be some all inclusive zip files with all of them, but can't seem to find working links.
