I'm pretty sure this has been covered before but I cannot remember.

When I am downloading one of the maps from the server it would randomly stop downloading, restart it and go from my usual download speed to 13kb/s. I disconnect and reconnect through the console, it goes for a bit then does the same thing. Over and over. Any fixes out there that I can do to prevent it from happening? I was going to use the XI downloader but it couldn't connect so I am assuming that it has gone offline.

The only fix I have found so far is to clear out my temp folder in Windows but that's all I got going for me.
I knew I should have backed up all my maps as well as my profile when I did a fresh install of Windows (recently bought Windows 10).

It's an old issue, all you can do is exit the game completely and restart the game and start the download again. Well that's the fix for COD4 & 5

Okay thanks.
I know over in CoD2 we get download failures but those are fixed by disconnecting and reconnecting but sadly that didn't work in CoD4. I'll keep that tip in mind

It happens to every map I haven't got downloaded. What I am having to do now is close the game and re-open it and connect again and it seems to work. Just disconnecting from the server and connecting again doesn't work unfortunately.
I am not sure how the file structure and redirect looks for CoD4 so I can't really think of any other fixes than what I have now. It might be different from what I know for CoD2. That one I am very familiar with and how it handles map packs and .iwd's.
