I am 100% all the way for AMD.

AMD's low end rocks all over Intel's high end.

AMD is for the people. They keep their prices to an affordable level. It's not all about their pockets like Intel is.

Intel is losing money and has reduced some of their prices by 50% lately.

A lone  time i used Intel ,and stlil got the i5 4690K @ 4.6 GHz  ,before the i5 Haswell refresh i used the i5 3570K and i7 4770 .

At that time Intel was the king ,but then came AMD with Ryzen ....OMG ,goodbye Intel !

I have the R7 1700x and R5 2600 and these peform way better than the Intel's that i used before ,and what a low prices compare to Intel .

So i agree , 100% AMD

I have used both and they are all good at somethings and not so good at others so your choice really , but the price difference is a definate factor  for swaying AMD.

That beeing said i currently run Intel 6700 and Nvidia RTX2070 and it all runs good for me.

I always stick with Gigabyte motherboards.  Been building pc's since the 80286 days ( early 80's).  And in the 100 + pc's I have built.  I never have issues with AMD cpu's, and Gigabyte motherboards.  Out of those pc's maybe 10 have been Intel based.  Had issues with a few of those Intel based builds.  So I do nothing but AMD and Gigabyte.  Use to only run,  DFI Motherboards (Diamond Flower International).  But they left the consumer market a few years after they released the "World Famous"  LanParty Motherboards !!  Still have a couple LanParty boards in boxes.  Great boards !!!  Shame they only sell industrial boards now.  DFI was the company that started the motherboard craze of using colors and focused on both performance and aesthetics.  Anyway,  use Gigabyte no matter what CPU you choose.

I have no experience with AMD :(

I am running Intel® Core™ i9-7900X with 64 GB 3600MHz DDR4 and NVIDIA 1080Ti

It does seem like AMD gives better bang for the buck...

My current rig is AMD FX-8350 + R9 290X

Experiment build I am currently hoping to overclock , I havent done anything yet , need a better watercooler for OC

Moved from Intel i5 but I still have have not ran into any problems with the AMD build

I would of went with Ryzen of course but the 8 core FX series are going for quite cheap now with major OC potential. Experiment build at the end of the day haha

Gonna have a bad apple in the bunch every now and then.   :)   I had the same experience with Asus and an Intel i7 2700k build.  Read articles on the Asus and figured I would give it a shot.   First board was doa and the second worked somewhat.  This was a DAW build (music recording rig) and I had nothing but recording issues with the Asus as a DAW pc.  Ended up building another DAW rig with a Gigabyte board (as I usually do) and all the issues went away.  That Asus and Intel cpu are gathering dust.   But everyone has their favorites.   Dont get me started on PC cases !!!

AMD FX 8320 OCed to 4.8ghz. 16gb ddr3 AMD/ATI RX 580 Asus Sabertooth 990fx R2 motherboard. Water cooled with a Corsair H115i AIO. And I still lag like fuck hell on Guild Wars 2. Guild Wars 2 is intel optimized but WTF. I should be able to play it on Max settings without dropping below 60fps. I play on medium low with all of the fancy crap turned off and some times my fps drops as far down as 8-12fps. Most of the time it hangs around 30-40fps.

Crazy shit is my GPU usage stays around 20% and CPU usage of 15-18% across all cores. A much much more demanding game such as DayZ Standalone or Arma 3 will run 120fps+ all day long with the graphics cranked.

The Amd FX chips (Vishera core) integrated memory controller is absolutely horrible. It's the sole cause of dropped frames, significant FPS drops and horrible overall gaming performance on a non AMD optimized game. And AMD blatantly lied to us when they called it an 8 core CPU. It's a 4 core CPU with 4 threads. Same concept as an intel CPU with Hyper Threading.

The i9 9900K is currently the best CPU out there for gaming. Currently priced at $470.

AMD for computing/rendering or those few games out there that are optimized to run an AMD cpu.  The best that AMD has to offer At the moment is the Ryzen 9 3900x which started with a price of $499. Currently priced at $530.

Intel is still King of the gaming CPU period. This has been proven many times by real world benchmarks. Check youtube there are a couple completely unbiased benchmarks on there.

Real world synthetic VS gaming benchmarks. Synthetic benchmarks are fine for testing but real world Gaming benchmarks paint a completely different picture between the brands. Ignore the Cinebench Rendering benchmarks. We know AMD chips are better rendering cpus.

The best Intel based Motherboards are still Way over priced. They have always been that way for some reason. My motherboard was the 2nd best AMD motherboard and it was $160. The Best AMD motherboard at the time was priced at $189. The best Intel motherboard at the time was almost $400.  That is why I keep going back to AMD. Price VS Performance. If I had no budget I would definitely go with an Intel chip and Nvidia graphics.
