Hi. I lost my previous PC along with all the physical games I had. Now I have a new PC with Windows 10 and I have bought COD WAW again through steam taking advantage of black friday, but I have problems.

I had problems changing the resolution to 1920x1080, but I solved it by changing the resolution manually inside the .cfg file, and I was able to play perfectly on normal servers. But when I want to play on servers with mods (like yours) I can't.

The mod is downloaded, the map is downloaded, and when it goes into the game it throws me to the desktop and the game stops responding and crashes. It happens to me in all the servers that use mods, but in the normal ones I can play well.

I guess it will be a matter of windows 10. I have tested in compatibility mode with windows 7 and nothing. I tried to start the game in administrator mode and nothing.

Did it happen to someone else?

A fellow player had the same issue and found out he had to run the game in service pack 3 compatibility.  Been working fine for him ever since.

Yes.  That's what he was doing.  BTW your name looks very familiar from years back.

Not sure then.  I know he had the exact issue you described and that's what worked for him.

I have been playing for a long time without any problem. The solution is to find the executable of the game, go to properties, and mark "Disable fullscreen optimizations."

Also mark "run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 3", but just marking this does not solve anything, you also have to mark what I said before.

Simply marking "Disable fullscreen optimizations" will solve the problems of the games in windows 10, and if the game is old add the compatibility with windows xp sp 3.

Make sure Steam is running as admin and make sure your Cod WaW exe files (SP and MP) are set to run as admin in the compatibility tab and try to run without compatibility mode and if that doesnt work then try it with Win 7.

Fucking A, what a convoluted, tedious pain in the ass just to play a game.  Not even my problem & I got aggravated reading that.  Lol.

So just to clarify this is COD WAW not COD4 right ?

First if would seem you did this but go check it out again and compare .

If it does not solve the issue try this next. Open steam go to your library find your game right click the launch icon select properties.

Click verify game. You can also select the  updates tab to make sure the game is getting updated. Good luck. In cases like this I'd say deleting the game and reinstalling is faster.
